House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (R-Va.) formally endorsed former President Trump’s campaign for president in 2024, just minutes after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) ended his presidential bid.
“It is my privilege to provide my complete and total endorsement for Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. President Trump was the greatest President of my lifetime, and we need him to reinstate the policies that were working so well for America,” Good wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Good’s endorsement comes just after DeSantis announced he was withdrawing from the presidential race. Good had initially endorsed DeSantis — a decision that initially drew anger from some high-profile figures in the conference.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was ousted from the Freedom Caucus, recently railed against Good, calling him a “disloyal MAGA traitor” and saying, “President Trump is going to win in 24, and he needs loyal America First warriors NOT Congressmen on a power trip who will stab him in the back.”

I think the problem for Bob Good and his “Freedom” Caucus is that endorsing Trump only means headaches and virtually no money, whereas endorsing DeSantis means tons of money and only small hassles (as in MTG).
A lot of them in the House supported DeSantis because he was a congressman and they know him
I think that’s all there is to it. They dont have TDS just their preference to have a former colleague.
Back stabbers and throat cutters jockeying for position.
Don’t be surprised to see Paul Ryan endorsing Trump soon.
There’s usually no upside for a Congressman to endorse a presidential candidate in the primaries unless he knows that candidate is going to win the nomination.
For anyone who legitimately wanted Trump policies without the Trump baggage (call BS as you will), there’s no choice now except Trump policies with the baggage or something not what you wanted at all ... with other baggage.
Let’s see if Paul Ryan lets Mike Lindell advertise on his program.
