Former First Lady Melania Trump's mother Amalija Knavs, 78, has died after falling ill at the end of 2023 and following a stay at a Miami hospital during the holidays.
'It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija,' the 53-year-old former first lady said in a touching tribute on Tuesday night.
'Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity. She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy.'

Melina is such a beautiful person, inside and out. Her mother must have been a very loving person. Look how wonderful Melina turned out to be!!!
I lost my mom 4/16/2020. I miss her. But I have a new great nehpew and chose to follow life.

Truly heartbreaking when you stop to think President Trump has had to lay to rest his younger brother Robert, his first wife Ivana, and his sister Maryanne already in roughly four years.
Now, he and FLOTUS Melania must say goodbye to her mother.
Sending all my sympathies to our beautiful First Family.
Please give them strength to continue to cope with withering anguish.

Now that mom has passed, maybe she will become more opinionated and we'll see the 'real' Melania.
The Trump family needed the death of Melania’s mother at this time of year like they needed a hole in their head. I feel so bad for Melania; her parents were loved by all the Trump family. RIP.
