The Soviet Union had gulags. They eliminated the opposition, and made everyone else support, or pretend to support the regime. A certain percentage were sent there for no reason — that kept the folks in line so they wouldn’t speak against the regime.
The USA doesn’t have anything called “gulags” but it has the equivalent: a raging, angry, bitter dictator who is using the “justice” system to punish and silence all who oppose his regime.
It’s an election year and the dictators don’t want to lose their stranglehold on power. They are perfectly willing to throw people into solitary simply because they are on the other side.
Sounds like they are scared. How not to say we live under a dictatorship without saying we live under a dictatorship.
