The New York City teachers’ union sued Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday, claiming he broke the law by imposing $550 million in mid-year spending cuts to the public school system as the Big Apple grapples with a migrant crisis.
The United Federation of Teachers’ lawsuit accuses Adams of violating a state law that bars the city from slashing education spending unless overall revenues decline — claiming tax revenues actually rose last year, according to the filing in Manhattan Supreme Court.
“The administration can’t go around touting the tourism recovery and the return of the city’s pre-pandemic jobs, and then create a fiscal crisis and cut education because of its own mismanagement of the asylum seeker problem,” said UFT president Mike Mulgrew.

His United Federation of Socialist Teachers is standing on a banana peel with time running out.
It’s an indisputable fact that their money tree is dying.
No they want the influx of uneducated migrant kids. They have seats to fill because of all the people fleeing the city and state.
To keep up with the influx they will have to hire unqualified immigrant teachers who won't complain about their union dues.

The unspeakable feces-filled scumbag Mulgrew, president of the NYC teachers union, has been in total cahoots with Eric Adams and heads of other municipal unions to screw over the city’s retirees and force them to take a vastly inferior plan that many hospitals and doctor’s won’t take—Aetna Medicare Advantage plan. The City Code states that municipal retirees are to get their traditional Medicare and city-paid medigap insurance. Adams and Mulgrew wanted to screw the retirees, many of whom are in their 80s and 90s and in ill health, out of their good insurance and force them into this horrible plan, in order to free up money for ILLEGALS, who never contributed anything to the City of NY, unlike its retirees. And Adams wanted money for the big raise promised to active members of the teachers union. So go after the most vulnerable group, the retirees, right? You filthy bums. A pox on both of you. Thank G-d, so far the courts are siding with the retirees.

From April 1, 2020 to April 1, 2023, New York State lost 882,676 people and that outflow is, if anything, accelerating.
Mulgrew knows this but being a typical Marxist he is going to ride his financial horse (union salary) until it drops dead. New York can’t print money and New York is fixing to get told by a President (Trump) to “drop dead”...... again.
