Pro-Palestinian protesters have shut down the 110 freeway in Los Angeles to demand a ceasefire. As you’ll see, LA drivers were not happy about it.

LAPD arrived within 10 minutes and the protesters sat down and began singing.

Police ordered everyone off the freeway but of course the protesters just kept bleating. Meanwhile, increasingly angry drivers were getting out of their cars to shout at the protesters.
A motorcycle drove through the protest line – nobody injured or hit as far as I could tell – and people have left their cars irate to argue with the protesters. One man throws at traffic cone at the menorah: pic.twitter.com/vRuFtddBUW

Among the many people trapped behind the protest were two school buses.

You can see the school buses in this overhead shot:

More police arrived but by now the commuters are getting angry and impatient.

Commuters start manhandling some of the protesters who aren’t sitting anymore. The police intervene just as things are getting out of hand. They warn that anyone standing on the freeway is now subject to arrest.
Some commuters began physically pushing and grappling protesters on the 110 freeway.

CHP just announced that all people on the freeway southbound as well as *specifically* all members of the media are in violation of the law and subject to the arrest immediately.

The protesters refused to move and so police wound up arresting 75 people.
Shortly before 10 a.m., CHP officers began approaching the protesters individually, tying their hands with zip-ties and taking them into custody without incident. After being detained, the activists were each placed in one of the two-dozen Highway Patrol cruisers and cargo vans that were parked on the freeway.
The CHP later confirmed that 75 people involved in the protest were arrested.
Southbound traffic was backed up past Dodger Stadium and the 5 Freeway interchange as the sit-in continued. About 11:30 a.m., the Highway Patrol reopened all freeway lanes to drivers.

The freeway was finally reopened about 2 1/2 hours after the protesters shut it down. Of course the problem is that all of these people will be quickly released, their prosecution will be dragged out, downgraded and eventually will result in nothing. Protesters have no right to exercise their rights on a busy freeway. Protests are subject to reasonable time and place restrictions but because the left keeps getting away with this sort of thing there’s no real reason for them to stop. Give each of these people a swift hearing and 60 days in jail and leftist protesters will be much less interested in playing this game.
This will not go over well.
And F LAPD for being on the wrong side once again. SMH
Alternate story: Semi driver to partner “Eddie, did you just feel that sort of thud or thump under the truck like I did? I hope our tires are okay.”
Hence the problem I have with the police.
If any of the drivers got out and started whooping someone’s ass, they’d be carted off in cuffs.
As soon as the cops got there, a quick “get out of the road”. Within seconds they should have been getting locked up.
Blocking traffic like that isn’t going to win people over to your side - actually it can have the opposite effect.
“If any of the drivers got out and started whooping someone’s ass, they’d be carted off in cuffs.”
That’s how you can tell this is a Regime approved protest.
Lucky for them it’s only California.
But eventually everyone reaches their breaking point. Either new versions of Archie Bunker or Charles Bronson.
Commiefornians voted for the traitorous politicians who allow this. Commiefornians can enjoy it.
And that’s why, sadly, there are very few ‘cops’ anymore. Lots of police. But very few, cops.
“Blocking traffic like that isn’t going to win people over to your side - actually it can have the opposite effect.”
Absolutely! But California is not known as “The Land of Fruits and Nuts” for nothing...
For impact they should have shut down the 405. This is just going to piss off the wrong people.
“But eventually everyone reaches their breaking point. Either new versions of Archie Bunker or Charles Bronson.”
I’m for Bronson clones. Archie was pretty easy for leftists to push aside, but Paul Kersey was real hard to ignore.
But you can’t fault them, other than their decision to remain in a jurisdiction which such corrupt leadership.
Police are a hierarchy. They police where and how they are told. Either they do it, or they resign and move.
“and now they are singing.”
Did they take song requests from enraged drivers unable to get where they wee going? Including emergency vehicles and people on the way to hospitals or doctors? Or to pick up children somewhere?

They are not trying to win people over; they are trying to intimidate and terrorize them.
They believe they will be protected by the police from any consequential retaliations from the people they are harassing. They are correct in that belief.
Perhaps all motorists should carry pepper spray and tear gas. As soon as this starts just walk up and spray. They’ll move faster than coyotes. Personally I like the solution from the Blues Brothers

I was shocked to come upon this video showing angry drivers are not waiting to be taken advantage of in silence. Maybe the pushback is going to come before we lose to the Chicom/Dems.
Another “clash with protesters”

Again, a case where is the cops don’t want good people to sacrifice their own safety and freedom from being arrested then the cops who are already paid to enforce the law should start enforcing the laws.
Every parent with a child who couldn’t get proper medical care due to this blockage should sue. As should others who suffer hardships by being late.
In one of the protests for one of the martyrs like Floyd the ambulance crew pleaded with the protesters to let them take a child to the hospital right away. The roads were blocked. They defiantly said “no.”
