Argentina’s new president, Javier Milei, has vowed to lead his country out of decades of “decadence and decline” but said its punishing economic crisis would intensify over the coming months, as a “who’s who” of the global far right assembled in Buenos Aires to celebrate the radical libertarian’s inauguration.

Addressing tens of thousands of supporters outside Argentina’s turquoise-domed neoclassical congress, Milei – a mercurial former TV celebrity known as El Loco or the Madman – compared his shock election with the start of the Soviet Union’s collapse

I wish him well so long as he’s not stupid enough to make war with the UK over the Flakland Islands.

He won’t need to worry about the UK when enough normal citizens find out what the cabal has been secretly doing in that part of the world

I am not familiar with the Falkland Islands very much other than the Falkland War. I was surprised that the 2023 population is about 3,800 people. I assumed it was far more populated than that. It’s a good day when you can learn something new.

That's an odd comment. The Falkland Islands war was back in 1982, over forty years ago.

Did Milei have taking the Falklands back as part of his campaign platform? If so, I missed it.

“Former Vice President Cristina Kirchner flipped off supporters of President Milei”

That’s it girl, stay classy. And back in ‘82, Argies consumed by the moment, cried about “Mi Malvinas” or were they expressing concern for the island’s sheep population?

I’m not going to do the research to find out if the 3,800 number is right or not, but I’m quite sure that the people who do live there want to be a part of the UK, not Argentina.

Not sure tying that tying the Argentine economy to our currency is smart with MMT (Modern Monetary Theory) Yellen at the Treasury helm.

When doing that is a better choice than keeping a central bank Yikes!

I would think you are correct.

More interesting info from the Falkland goverment website. The Falkland Islands never had an indigenous population.

One of his proposals is that the UK and Argentina agree to a lease, similar to China getting back Hong Kong after 99 years.

“far right” “radical”

No bias there. Nope. Have we ever heard “far left” with Marxists like Biden.
