Meh, millions of republicans voted for mccain, romney, and trump. Politics is about political cults who suport their parties over America. Millions and millions of republicans will wait in line and support nikki or trump, if they are their nominee. That’s how messed up political parties are, they really have no convictions; just vote for their party.

Back when we had “government” classes instead of “political science,” we learned the simple truth: A political party exists for the purpose of electing people to office. When it fails to achieve that simple end, it is at risk for dissolution and disappearance. Yes the venerable GOP may find its days are numbered, to be replaced by some as yet unknown coalition.

I think the impedance missmatch between candidates voters want, and who they actually get to vote for is a an elitist feature of the two party system, not a bug.
