M109A6 Paladin is far superior.
155mm Stabilized gun. Longer range 15 to 40Km, heavier projectile 95lbs (15lbs is explosives). Carries 39 rounds on board. Max rate of fire 4 RPM, sustained 1 RPM.
It’s M992 CAT (FAASV) that supports it, carries an additional 95 rounds. Can go from road march to sending rounds down range in 30 seconds, can displace in same amount of time. Better armor protection 30+ mm.
2S1: Unstabilized 122mm gun, 15-21Km range, round weighs 47lbs (8lbs is explosives), ROF max 5rpm, sustained 2 rpm. Carries 40 rounds. No equivalent support vehicle. Takes 2 minutes to emplace and send rounds down range, 1 minute to displace. Armor: 7-20mm
