The unpalatable truth is that Ukraine's counter-offensive has reached a dead end - and its casualties are mounting. ........David Patrikarakos argues....

The Ukrainian counter-offensive was supposed to change the course of the war. The Ukrainians, backed by large deliveries of Western weapons, would punch through the Russian lines and move inexorably toward Crimea — and victory.

It did not happen.

The hopes of Ukraine and its Western partners have shattered against the hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers and millions of mines that stretch across the line of contact from Kupiansk in the north to Robotyne in the south.

Two weeks ago, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi admitted that things had reached a 'dead end'. It was a sobering moment......U.S. officials claim that the Ukrainians have suffered roughly 70,000 killed and 100,000-120,000 wounded to date and is now losing men at higher levels than ever before......It is taking huge losses, but just like in their siege of the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, this makes no difference to Moscow. It can absorb huge losses without any problems.

Ukraine has sent commandos into the Russian-held points along the east bank of Dnipro river, and recently retook a village there, but the Russians claim they will wipe out the incursion soon enough. Either way, military sources tell me that neither side is likely to make any significant territorial gains in the coming weeks......Ukraine, he says, has been given enough to stem the invasion, but not win the war.

Ukrainian soldiers on the front agree, telling me equipment was sent from Kyiv to the wrong units — inexperienced brigades who could not effectively use them, while battle-hardened soldiers were left with inadequate equipment.

'I see there is a lot of fatigue,' Meloni told him. 'I have to say the truth, from all the sides. We (are) nearing the moment in which everyone understands that we need a way out.'

David Patrikarakos is a British author, journalist and war correspondent....He has covered the war in Ukraine since its beginnings in 2014, and was the first western journalist in the occupied city of Sloviansk, on 12 April 2014, which signalled the beginning of Russia’s military invasion of eastern Ukraine

In the military sphere,.... His book " War in 140 Characters" was placed on the reading lists for the 'Munich Security Conference' and the 'UK's Royal Air Force' Centre for Air Power Studies and singled out as' essential reading by US Naval Commander Admiral Foggo' In 2018, the incoming head of UK Chief of the Defence Staff, Sir Nick Carter concluded his first major policy speech at Royal United Services Institute by calling on the 77th Brigade 'to observe the lessons of Patrikarakos' book'..... The book’s Ukrainian translation is also used by the Ukrainian military.

Ukraine had made slow and steady progress demilitarizing Crimea. Putin annexed Crimea to preserve the Russian fleet in Sevastopol, but has now removed most of that fleet to Russia. Ukraine is across the Dnieper in Kherson province, and that bridgehead is expanding. Russia appears to recognize that it can’t defend there, and is focusing on expanding control over territory closer to Russia in Donetsk province. These offensives are executed with human waves of expendable troops. It is a similar strategy to the Russian Tsars in WWI which resulted in the collapse of that regime, and could have a similar result for Putin. There are some small Russian advances, but on the whole, Ukraine is making the better progress.

"Ukraine is making the better progress."

The Ukraine is burning its soldiers like cordwood in winter. The only "great" offensive that has actually gone backward.

Depending on whether or not you believe this source it is clear that Russia who invaded Ukraine has not made any recent significant gains since the beginning of the war and appears to be bogged down as well. So I don’t see how the Ukraine is losing this war. With support of many other nations Ukraine should be able to outlast Russia in a war of attrition. The Russian people will accept large casualties until they have to much of a burden and if the regime show weakness they will then revolt like thy did under the Czars several times and under the Communists. This will happen again.

You should really read the article.

Only a G-D Fool would EVER actually beleive they could “WIN” any War with Russia on the Russian Border.

The last one to try that ended up shooting himself in his bunker and if Homo Corruptus Maximus had 1 ounce of the intestinal fortitude that the last guy had he’d do the same. And for the record that last one was the spawn of Satan IMO but he was committed.

What a F’ng waste of Humanity.

Ukraine doesn’t have enough soldiers to win a war of attrition against the Russians.

If you read of the author, (which I posted about) and the article itself through you’d see it’s a reliable source.

Further It’s about land.... Putins certainly conrolling the ‘land’bridge he’s taken from Ukraine.....creating the areas he’s currently using to secure his border.

It was said in the begining Putin likly would go as far inland as the river and it sure looks like that’s the case.

However here’s a saying that originated after World War I.

“War is a place where young boys who don’t know each other, are killing each other on behalf of old men that do know each other.”

Nah waste of time posting on those...she’s working with/for propaganda sources - bringing their stuff here. Which we exposed. So I stopped engaging on those threads.
If she posts I naturally scroll on by.

Russia: 155 million people.
Ukraine: 38 million, with possibly 12 million out of the country at this time.

Somebody will run out of cannon fodder first, place your bets.

If someone were to come out and claim this entire conflict is actually a product of an AI/CGI program producing these vids, photos etc I wouldn’t say “that’s crazy “. Everyone has video evidence saying my side is winning. All I know is no real gains have been made since the war began.

“Russia who invaded Ukraine has not made any recent significant gains since the beginning of the war and appears to be bogged down as well.”

Russia wanted a buffer between it and NATO and it now has one. The buffer is an area of mostly Russian speaking people mistreated by Ukraine for years. Russia has what it wants and has no interest in ruling all of Ukraine. It will never give up what it has taken.

LOL, so in order to protect them from "mistreatment", Putin has started a war in which all the men in occupied areas were conscripted and injured/killed off as cannon fodder. Okay
