As with WWII, the signs were all there long before the war “officially” started - the war in Donbas had already started in 2013, after the Maidan Coup, and it was clear to anyone paying attention that radical Ukraine nationalism, promoted and used by NATO and the West, was the new ideology.
If you were a Russian speaker with any Russian ancestry, you were quickly becoming a 2nd class citizen - while living in a highly corrupt and unstable country.
That's a logical number.
Ukraine's last census in 2001 showed a population of 48.4 million. It has had the lowest birth-rate (and still falling) in the EU for decades. EU documents indicated an outflow of 300-400K Ukrainians to Europe every year since the 1990s. The 2001 census also included Ukrainian citizens who were workers or students in other countries. They certainly will not return
Ukraine has since lost Crimea, it has lost Donbas. 7-9 million fled to both West and East when the SMO/Russian invasion started in 2022 - and these are more likely young adults, vs. children and the elderly.
Another 500K+ men are dead or wounded since Feb. 2022.
Ukraine will simply run out of people to fight this war.
With the level of hate the Islamic World has for Israel the real reason the Islamo Nazis have not joined together and declared war is because Israel has nuclear weapons (probably H-bombs just as good as ours).
