Sen. Tillis tests positive for COVID
The Hill ^ | 10/31/2023 | SARAH FORTINSKY

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) on Tuesday said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and would miss votes this week in the Senate.

His office confirmed to The Hill he plans to return to Washington next week.

Tillis, who had planned to host a Halloween “dog parade” on Tuesday, said he no longer would be able to attend but suggested Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) could take his place.

“Unfortunately I have COVID and won’t be able to kick off today’s Bipawtisan Howl-o-ween Dog Parade. But believe me, it will all work out. I know the perfect person for the job…,” Tillis wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, with a picture of Romney holding a soccer ball and a referee whistle.

“So what? A lot of people test positive for Covid these days.”

So does a can of Coke.

RE: Hopefully he has been vaccinated. That way it will be less severe

Yeah, this article did not inform us of his Covid vaccination status, nor did it tell us if he was boosted.

Not very useful for determining whether or not vaccinations are useful in preventing infections.

Because they are getting ready to impose another lockdown, and this one will be permanent.

Only it will be called a "Climate Emergency".

According to this link:

https://www.facebook.com/SenatorThomTillis/videos/senator-tillis-getting-vaccinated-is-our-best-shot-to-protect-our-family-communi/225889859008138/

He has encouraged everyone to protect themselves and their family by getting vaccinated. Therefore, it can be assumed that YES, he has been Covid vaccinated ( otherwise he can be called a hypocrite ).

I don’t think I can protect myself with the latest booster because I never got the original vaccine or any of the boosters. I think I’m disqualified for the latest booster. I’m so happy that I wasn’t required by a job or school to get vaccinated. Friends and relatives was the only pressure I got and now many of them wish they hadn’t gotten it.

Romney would be a good choice to lead a dog parade.

Does it count as a dog parade if the dog is on the roof of your car?

RE: Friends and relatives was the only pressure I got and now many of them wish they hadn’t gotten it.

Did they tell you why ( give their reasons ) they regret taking the jab?

I must admit...as soon as I saw Romney in the article, I had to double-check that this wasn’t the Babylon Bee...

Top Marine commander hospitalized after suffering heart attack!

The U.S. Marine Corps’ highest ranking officer has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.

Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Eric M. Smith was hospitalized Sunday after suffering a “medical emergency,” according to a Marine Corps press release, with USNI reporting Monday that the top general suffered a heart attack.

Lt. Gen. Karsten Heckl, deputy commandant for combat development and integration and commanding general of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, will serve as acting commandant while Smith is out, the Marines announced in the release.

Smith was last seen in public on Sunday afternoon at the finish line of the Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, Virginia, where the top general greeted runners completing the event, according to USNI. Smith also talked to reporters Friday, noting that he was doing the job of both the commandant and assistant commandant while awaiting Senate confirmation of Lt. Gen. Christopher Mahoney to the Marine’s No. 2 officer role.

Lt. Gen. Karsten Heckl will serve as the interim commandant of the Marine Corps.

My dad was really excited when the vaccine came out. Because of his age he was able to get it first and thought he was setting the example for the family. He was really irritated when I told him no way I was taking it. I think he did one booster and said no thanks after that. I don’t send him anti vaccine stuff, but his friends obviously have been. While I haven’t yet asked him, I’m sure my ultra liberal brother and his family have all gotten the latest booster.
