Mr. Rothkopf’s column is the answer those questions. The fear/hatred of American Christians among many on the American Jewish left outweighs their affinity with or sympathy for Israel.

That is a nation with respect for a set of ethics found in Christianity and Judaism.
Pagan religions and Islam sanctify murder, rape, theft, and dishonesty. They sanction polygamy and sex with children. They do not believe in equal justice under the law, a key part of the judeo/Christian ethical system.
