The reality is that Hamas holds over 200 hostages. No doubt Hamas has made it clear that once the invasion of Gaza commences, those hostages will be murdered.Hence the delay of the invasion while “negotiations” seceretly proceed. Imagine the angst that Netanyahu is experiencing. He knows that once he orders the invasion to begin that not only will the hostages be killed but his young, enthusiastic but combat inexperienced soldiers will face grueling urban combat and will take significant casualties. He also knows that this colassal intelligence failure and inadequate border security for whatever reason, happened on his watch. Likely that within a year he will leave office forever and in his heart will consider himself a failure.
