But, I had friends deployed to iraq and afganistan and they said that homo sex was rampant, but they didn’t consider it wrong because it was just physical release, i.e., “emergency sex”.

When I deployed to Saudi Arabia during Operation DESERT SHIELD, I was on a joint patrol with a Saudi and we observed two men holding hands walking down the street. I asked him why that occurs given Islamic aversion to homosexuality. He told me that it was not homosexuality...but “sex with women is for procreation and sex with boys is for pleasure.” Direct quote...not paraphrasing. I could not wait for my shift to end. Never volunteered for joint patrol again.
Because of the strictures in Islam of interactions with women that can result in death of the woman, homosexual behavior with boys and men is known and tolerated, and everyone just looks the other way.
Otherwise, their only outlet is to cross borders and murder people.
