We wouldn’t even be talking about a deep state if Trump hadn’t been elected. Republican candidates would still be talking about things in terms of left and right. As it is, candidates like DeSantis are forced to talk about the deep state, but not in a meaningful way. They can’t, because they’re part of it.

They’re funded by it and their agenda is to coexist with it. The tells? Just listen to what DeSantis has to say about the deep state. He’ll destroy it. And how will he destroy it when he won’t even acknowledge that they stole the 2020 election?

If DeSantis kneecaps himself again with the Bushes and the other GOPe loozars in the gubernatorial race as he has in this presidential race, he deserves to lose. I don’t, however, expect him to do that.

DeSantis has no reason to drop out before Iowa and New Hampshire. He's not broke. He can stay in the race until then if for anything, to see where the race falls out vs the polling. You never know!

The real question is, why is Trump so concerned about DeSantis (and nobody else) if he's so far ahead in the polling?

DeSantis is living rent-free in Trump's head.

Trump throws a few zingers at DeSantis & Nikki just to keep his hand in. He has no real competition.

Yea, Trump seems to resent DeSantis’ disloyalty to him but doesn’t say that much about the disloyalty of Haley.

If Trump is so certain DeSantis is finished, he sure seems fixated on him, not to mention the $25M in vicious attack ads he has unleashed against him (from the left!)

True. If Trump were not in the race, FReepers would be fawning all over DeSantis. I happen to like the guy but am disappointed that he didn’t wait four years and has pulled some some goofy stunts.

And Iowa is 100 days away, i.e. soon. It’s honestly smart of DeSantis’s campaign to go all in on Iowa. That way they can be go ahead and drop immediately after getting crushed in the caucuses and won’t have to trudge around the country trying to keep the farce alive for a few more weeks.

***************

DeSantis needs to stay in the race as long as possible so he can burn up his money, be humiliated, defeated, and beaten to a bloody pulp.

Haley is a chick, running for President as a Republican which means she doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of being the nominee.

The only idiots that think she’s a viable candidate, are stubborn anti Trump donors & girly men dorks who “think like liberals” and write for conservative publications.

People who support and push Trump don’t seem to ever answer why they like, and want to be governed by someone who

lies to people
manipulates and plays games with people and his answers to them
commits fraud with, for example, campaign funds
only follows the rules and regulations he wants
and is supported by the swamp GOEe rino uniparty...

Is it because they have similar traits and ideas about what laws to break?

I think he focuses more on DeSantis’s disloyalty more than Haley’s, because DeSantis claims to stand for the very things Trump stands for. If you’ve already got someone in the race (i.e. Trump) who basically stands for what you claim to stand for, and then decide to run against him on basically the same platform, then that’s a pretty brazen betrayal, considering he owes his career as a MAGA governor to Trump.
