New speaker could take House GOP backward on climate (oh no!)
E&E News ^ | 10/5/23 | Emma Dumain

Whoever succeeds Kevin McCarthy as House speaker will almost certainly be a friend of fossil fuel interests and a likely skeptic of the fight against climate change.

The prospect is prompting worries among some green conservatives who appreciated the California Republican’s efforts to move the party away from straight-up climate science denialism.

Those advocates see the current slate of candidates as either untested on or outright hostile to policies designed to address a warming planet.

Many of those fears are being directed at Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the current House majority leader who on Wednesday formally announced his candidacy to replace McCarthy.

“Not so good,” was the blunt assessment from former Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.), regarding Scalise’s environmental record. Inglis now leads RepublicEn, seeking to expand the conservative climate movement.

Isn’t that good since the climate is supposedly horrible now, with half of American cities underwater?

This is BS. It’s written to tell us that Scalise would be “bad” for the climate. IMHO it’s trying to sell RINO Scalise to Republicans under the false guise that he’d be against Dim policies more than he’d be for them.

And the media, quoting government sources, are already position themselves to propagate fear porn.

Morning Fox radio talks of warmest September since start of record keeping and warmest year in a decade.

“green conservatives”
I’m not certain what they mean by this, but my guess is that it isn’t very conservative at all; not if the climate hoax is the major concern.

From what’s happening here in NYS, it appears the Governor has too much power...no more gas stoves? Maybe we have to concentrate on “obedient” governors like Hochul and the legislature that supports whatever she says....which is what Biden tells her to say.

“fight against climate change?” What fight? We are a gnat on an elephant butt in regards to a “fight”. However, best fundraiser ever for the Deep State.

I always ask these environ-weenies why they insist on “climate change”.

“Global warming” was a dud, “nuclear winter didn’t work out” so... warming, cooling, eh.. every time the temperature changes you disprove one or the other. So they settled on “climate change”.

I ask them what is the cause, it is pollution?

I am sure everyone agrees pollution is bad and we should stop it. Why insist on calling it “climate change” when there s NOT the same level of agreement?

I try to get them to that point to see that all the legislation for ‘climate change’ has more to do with global government control, and trillions of tax dollars spent, with no specific sources of pollution named, and no specific solutions.

Just “give us trillions in tax money and we’ll fix it by communism”

More and more we see that McCarthy’s and Linda’s task was as a road block against the GOP and American voters.
