This world will not evolve any further if it keeps referring to the “first black” ANYTHING. The same goes for all the other race and/or personal whatever’s. It’s like a steel wedge getting driven in a log with a sledge hammer.
This of course is larger than (and of course antithetical to) the whole “not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character” matter. Deuteronomy 17:15 and other like verses comes to mind.
Are they also a disabled transgender lesbian?
They should go for the yatzee score or go home.
For a country that is about 4% black this move was “critical” to signal “proper representation”. The people making these pandering decisions (just like in the US) don’t seem to realize that they are completely diminishing any qualifications of their chosen ‘symbols”. They will always be seen as ‘tokens’ or ‘affirmative action hires’.

The AP writer of this article committed a critical sin - failure to capitalize the first letter of the word ‘black’. The AP editor also missed this egregious error. They both need to resign and give all their accumulated wealth to BLM. And wear sackcloth and ashes for five years. Being crucified upside down is optional, in this case.
