Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) warned that a move to expel Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) from the House “will not be tolerated” by GOP voters.
“And a Republican led effort to expel Matt Gaetz absolutely will not be tolerated by Republicans across the country. I can guarantee you that. Remember when 11 R’s voted against me and 10 R’s voted to impeach Pres Trump? Both the [motion to vacate] and expulsion plans are wrong,” Greene wrote in a lengthy thread on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Gaetz revealed Sunday that he is planning to bring a motion to vacate against Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) this week after the Speaker worked with Democrats to pass a continuing resolution that would keep the government open. This comes after weeks of threats from the Florida Republican, who is also now reportedly facing some calls for his own expulsion.

I have no hostility to Greene and none towards Gaetz either but politics in DC is so corrupt Greene should perhaps not be so close to Kevin McCarthy as she has chosen but again no anger here hope for something good to materialize from her was well as Gaetz.
They are in the process of cooking the goose of those who don’t pay attention and get their news while standing in line at the local store with a TV running off to the side.
Gaetz spoke up.. One spoke up!! The rest of gop are satisfied for the dems to spend it all. Open the border, donate to bidens bill at Ukraine,, hate Trump..
I like MTG. But she is on the wrong side of history here. If anything, the GOP voters are furious with McCarthy’s sellout of the base.

The GOP is always happy to give Democrats the money to fund the programs that the Dems depend on to buy votes.

I think she believed all of McCarthy’s lies to her when he was being voted on for Speaker. He did put her on committees where she was not on any before, but he has proven that he is a liar since. Either she was playing McCarthy to get those committee appointments or she subsequently figured out it he is a weasel and is once again aligned with her old friend, Matt Gaetz.
I don’t think she is any more. I think any support for him was short-lived.
She’s an attention whore, for sure. She just had to get her own song out there right after Kari Lake’s song zoomed to the top of the charts. MTG produced it with her boyfriend-of-the-moment, that rap guy.
I’m waiting for her to admit she got taken in by McCarthy-Luntz and apologize for being such a sucker....although I suspect Kevvy was her boyfriend-of-the-moment when that happened. Not sure where Brian Glenn stands now. I think his time is up.
Hopefully she’ll do some good as she’s trying to claw her way back up to being a MAGA star....it’s a long crawl though...only exceeded by the debt ceiling.
If McCarthy wanted to be speaker he would detail his plans to hold separate votes in the coming weeks. He has not done that nor even said he would do that, so he can go away. He’s uniparty, no better than Ryan or Cantor.
As if MTG cares about what the base of the Republican party wants. He boy Kevin repeatedly betrays us all. We need our own MAGA party. The GOP is only useful to Democrats.
