It’s starting to look like it. Some other causes du jour are looking limp lately, too.
Oh, hysteria is still out there. In Boston this month, I passed a church where the door bore a lurid poster reading “DUE TO GLOBAL CLIMATE CRISIS, WORSHIP IN SANCTUARY 9-17-23 CANCELED.”

But this seems actually a case of closing church so parishioners could go to New York to “Join us in the March to End Fossil Fuels,” which is even more amusing, since traveling uses a lot more fossil fuels than staying in Boston and praying for an end to fossil fuels, which would be at least as effective.

I can see why he gave up. Methane levels have gone vertical. Last time that happened was just before the start of the last ice age, 2.5 mil years ago. Ice melted globally and ocean levels rose 100’ more than present within a few hundred years. Then CO2 levels crashed due to over active biosphere then... Malenkovic cycles, etc. = Ice.

If there was a major climate crisis on a global scale, it would be out of our hands to correct. Chances are it would be the sun, which is the biggest factor in the earth’s climate, apart from our planetary orbit, which we despite science fiction, cannot do anything about either.
