The Army is showing no signs of curtailing its deployments to Europe as the war in Ukraine continues to grind on.
On Wednesday the Army announced that about 3,400 soldiers with the 101st Airborne Division’s 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team will head to Eastern Europe this fall, as will 200 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters.
The units will deploy primarily to Romania as well in Southeastern Europe and to the continent’s “High North” region that includes Scandinavian countries, Army officials said.
Among the 101st troops are infantry units from the division’s storied 187th Infantry Regiment, known as the Rakkasans.
“We look forward to the return of the 82nd Airborne Division to the continent, and to the Rakkasan’s next ‘rendezvous with destiny,’ which follows the back-to-back deployments of their storied division’s two other infantry brigade combat teams,” Army Col. Martin O’Donnell, a spokesman for U.S. Army Europe, said in a statement.
The brigade from the 101st Airborne will replace the division’s 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team. The 82nd Airborne troops will replace a similar unit from the 10th Mountain Division, an Army news release says.

I suspect that a serious opponent could cause huge damage here in the States without much effort. Our daily life relies on complex systems for electricity, water, food transport and delivery, medicines.
Just interrupting the internet or phone service would make people crazy and cause chaos. Shutting down essential services that we take for granted would be much, much worse.

WHY does that even matter? And yes. I was in Europe post the Berlin Wall falling, and German unification. A lot of work went into evaluating various airfields and communications networks prior to them becoming NATO members. It was my job. Hungary and Poland joined in 1999, but work had been ongoing since 1995. And yes, I went on several TDYs to Eastern Europe, including Hungary, Poland and the former Republic of Yugoslavia—Bosnia and Croatia.
At the time, Russia had no objection. But then Yeltsin was a drunk but not power-mad. There was even some joint NATO exercises with Russian armed forces and serious talk of them also joining NATO.
Putin didn’t have a problem with the USA until Obama. Remember when Dubya said he looked into Putin’s eyes and he saw his soul?
Romania is in NATO now and has been for a while, so having US troops there is not a provocation.
And when SHTF here, not for a damn second do I think other countries will be coming to help us. Not even Ukraine.
No, they won’t. What I’m wondering is what’s gonna happen first-our troops getting into a shooting war with the Russians, or nukes getting launched…

They're not conquering anybody. They want to be left alone. Russia doesn't want to play ball with the globalist elites, so they are being targeted. They have specific objectives why they went into Ukraine, mainly they don't want the corruption and child sex trafficking on their border.
