WASHINGTON — The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it is providing $600 million in funding to produce new at-home COVID-19 tests and is restarting a website allowing Americans to again order up to four free tests per household — aiming to prevent possible shortages during a rise in coronavirus cases that has typically come during colder months.
The Department of Health and Human Services says orders can be placed at COVIDTests.gov starting Sept. 25, and that no-cost tests will be delivered for free by the United States Postal Service.

Considering how cheap looking and constructed these ‘tests’ are I wonder if they even can isolate the so-called variants of this virus. Are they simply indicating a possible coronavirus of which there are many?
In other words, are people with ordinary colds testing positive for COVID-19?

Cheapo tests will do nothing more than juice those numbers.

I think it is the other way. COVID is so weak that it cannot be distinguished from a cold or ‘flu. Masking and all the hoopla is ridiculous and certainly not needed.

Given what both the government and government-hired vendors have shown themselves to be I would not doubt for one minute they designed these tests to show positive no matter what, all in service of OMG everyone is infected, time for another lock down.

That's pretty much the conclusion I came to.
That probably don't work. Producing here, or buying from China? Either way, it's a scam. I used a home test I'd picked up at the drugstore that morning, because I was having cataract surgery, and had to have a negative Covid test within 3 days of the surgery. I followed the instructions to the letter, as I'd done them in the past in order to visit people in hospital and physical therapy centers. The test was negative.
The surgery center wouldn't accept the results because I hadn't gotten the shots, which was dumber than hell, so I had to go to a lab they were affiliated with, to get another swab test. The test was positive. I had no symptoms whatsoever. I tested twice for Covid last year within six months prior to medical procedures, and had no symptoms at all.
One of the reasons I refused to get the shots in the first place was that they didn't even have an accurate test to detect Covid. People I knew, and read about in the news, like Elon Musk, were tested multiple times, and got both positive and negative results within hours of each test.
