New Census figures reveal a troubling trend. After tumbling in 2021, poverty spiked sharply in 2022. Despite steady job growth, the Supplemental Poverty Measure jumped 4.6 points, from 7.8 to 12.4 percent.

That’s a historic, nearly 60 percent increase just one year after the measure reached a record low. And the rate for children more than doubled, from 5.2 percent in 2021 to 12.4 percent in 2022.

Interest rates from government spending, fewer jobs (full time), higher energy costs, illegal immigration, and a newly funded war, government corruption and payoffs for those that helped with ballots for 2020.

Basically, this is Bribemnomics!!! Behold the third term
Of Obama.

Congress could have stopped it.

WHAT we show up and we have to work too?.

People don’t understand how bad it is to show up 4 days a week and work 4 hours a day too.

Ah, projection and blame deflection begins.

It wasn’t Biden’s insane energy policy changes (the “green” agenda), or the importation of millions of low wage competitors, or the continued imposition of stupid covid restrictions leading to dead supply lines.

Nope!

It’s...the Republican Congress.

Right. Got it.

Maybe we should throw out the 40 million low IQ criminals in our country for starters.

Maybe we can send the illegals to yookrane since that’s where we’re sending all our taxpayer money instead of securing our border, fixing our infrastructure, and taking care of our veterans.

Open borders and Massive inflation would create more poverty

Why should Congress stop at eliminating poverty. Just make everyone a billionaire!

What the hell does this even mean? Poverty is a measure of income relative to some baseline. It has nothing to do with the distribution of that income. Also, who they including in the measure? If illegal children living in homes at the poverty level, I'm not surprised.

But, wait! I thought poverty problems were solved in 1964 with LBJ’s War on Poverty!

This is a ploy to resurrect the stimulus check con where no one keeps track of where all of the money went; and democrats suddenly have a huge war chest for the next election. The census group is an arm of the democrat party.

If reducing poverty is as simple has cutting people checks. then democrats should write some checks to their poverty stricken neighbors.

You have to walk the walk before you talk the talk

Bidenomics supported by Republicans and Democrats alike. Kevin McCarthy is busy getting support for a continuing resolution. What does it continue you may ask. It continues Nancy Pelosi’s appropriations and programs from the last Congress. Kevin McCarthy is a leftist piece of shit that needs to be removed from the speakership AND Congress.

They gave away FIVE TRILLION so people could stay home during COVID and poverty INCREASED?

If only they had given away ten trillion. Or maybe twenty.

“After tumbling in 2021, poverty spiked sharply in 2022.”

Biden/Obama is flooding the country with brand new poverty by the tens of thousands down at the Mexico border.

This isn’t an accident. You will be sharing your neighborhoods and schools with them and you will be taxed to support them.

Enjoy!

And don’t expect Bush Republicans to remove that tidal wave of illegal alien migrants because those cowards won’t deport a single one.

B.S.

The only thing that congress can and does do is to make poverty worse.
