Reagan’s 11th commandment makes a lot of sense, because after a primary campaign, you need your party to be united for the general election.
Basically he wanted to still be in the Uniparty without having to pretend to be a Republican because he hates the base and never wants to have to pretend to be a conservative again.
Seems Mitt couldn’t disrespect Senator JD Vance more. Wasn’t sure about JD at first, but this raises his political stock even further.
Maybe the stolen election of 2020 and then the Durham Report release would have been a clue that Trump is looked at like an incumbent being persecuted by the govt and the Dem party, but the R team has a lot of swamp scum in its midst that thinks Trump should do something else than run again..
Trump doesn’t have a united R team behind him because scum like Bush,McCain,Cheney,Romney, some R team scum that the R team peddled for the White House before Trump, can’t stand he infiltrated their swamp party..
Unity with swamp scum isn’t a long term strategy post Trump. Certainly not during Trump era either..

Negative campaigning is part of the game, it’s not the negative campaigning that is wrong, what’s wrong is when you go after the person’s family and make accusations that are over the top.
Accusing Casey DeSantis of faking cancer is beyond reprehensible for another Republican to do that.
The thing the MAGA crowd don’t seem to understand, the Republicans can only win when they are united, MAGA can’t win on their own, neither can the establishment, there has to be some type of peaceful coexistence, they don’t have to like each other, but they can’t be at war with each other, unless they want to continue to lose elections they should be winning.

If it were anyone other than Romney you might have a point but Romney has lost his base by bashing Trump and the other voters never liked him in the first place.

The Romney could appeal to don’t like Trump, so he has not lost them, you may not agree with me, not all the people who will vote for Trump are 100% behind him, he’s the lesser of two evils for a small percentage of Republican voters, maybe 2-4%, if that’s true, Romney will appeal to them.
Go back and look at the 2016 state by state results when Trump won, take as little as 1-2% off his totals and he doesn’t win the election.
Well, I think the hatred for Trump has taken its toll on Romney. He doesn’t look well to me so perhaps he will go home and take care of himself instead of furthering his demise by running for Pres.
