Most excellent response to the meaningless “Thank you...” that's more cliché than sincere. My late husband was ENLISTED Army in Vietnam - not drafted - enlisted. He never forgot and never forgave the way he and others were treated when they were lucky enough to live to return to home and country. Having some Lefty young pup thank him for his service 50+ years late was as welcome as the protesters spitting on him and calling him a “baby killer” when he stepped off the plane in Seattle in 1968. As long as I draw breath, I won't forget or forgive either. Screw all these disingenuous a**holes.

It is tough being a veteran or active duty when you have taken an oath to defend the Constitution, doing your best to stand by that oath, and then find out that the president & other elected officials don’t stand by the oaths they took.
