The “/s” notwithstanding, the stated national debt of $33T, and unstated national debt (??? $150T ???), can NEVER be paid back, not a single plug nickel, by design, by definition.
That’s because what would it be paid off with? Extra dollars we have floating around? Nope, since a dollar is an instrument not of money, but of debt. Due to the wonders of Fractional Reserve Bankstering, there can NEVER be enough dollars (if that even sufficed to ‘pay it back’, which it doesn’t) - total of M2 is way WAY less than the total (stated/unstated) debt.
With the FED “printing” our debt-based dollar, we legally owe the FED from the gitgo to pay it back with interest, and with that dollar circulating thru the economy, even more interest/taxes/fees accrue with the FED/IRS getting more of a cut.
