Poll: Ron DeSantis Slips to Third Place, Trump 43 Points Ahead of Challengers
Breitbart ^ | August 17, 2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has slipped to third place in the latest RMG Research survey examining the Republican primary race on the national scale.

Former President Donald Trump is only continuing to widen his lead in the Republican primary race, boasting 60 percent support in the latest RMG Research survey — 43 points ahead of his closest challenger. That reflects a five-point bump from the 55 percent support he saw one week ago.

That challenger in second place is no longer DeSantis but anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy with 13 percent support. DeSantis slipped into the single digits, coming in third place with just eight percent support. That reflects a significant shift over the last two months, as DeSantis placed second with 14 percent support in June, and Ramaswamy had three percent support.

In early August, DeSantis’s support ticked up to 15 percent, meaning he has lost seven percent over the course of a week. Ramaswamy jumped to ten percent last week, meaning he has experienced a three point increase in the last week and ten point increase since June.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie comes just three points behind DeSantis with five percent support, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley with four percent support each.

Another two percent chose South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

2024 National Republican Primary

• Trump — 60%
• Ramaswamy — 13%
• DeSantis — 8%
• Christie — 5%
• Pence — 4%
• Haley — 4%

It seems a cliche now on Free Republic, that we don’t believe polls, or don’t trust polls. So what are we to make of this poll?

Desnatis would probably do a much better job of draining the swamp than Trump. Why?

Because Desantis did it in Florida and Trump failed in his 4 year term.

Well, in general, for now, those pushing that line or DeSantis Online Influencers here on FreeRepublic because they don't like the direction their Candidate is trending in and that would be "Circling the Toilet".

Personally, I don’t find it that shocking Americans don’t want to spend most of their time thinking about ballerinas with bulges. I guess some 8% does though. Sounds about right.

IF Donald Trump is in jail, and he can’t Tweet, the major objection to Donald Trump being President is gone, so maybe that would boost his popularity in a weird way. And if he is campaigning from a jail cell against an even older guy who is campaigning from his basement, the rally venue industry will suffer during the election campaign. All new territory in the decline of America.

What a completely dishonest post by you.

Anyone with half a brain can see what relevant facts you did not post in your skewed analysis.

President Trump had a hostile congress full of Democrats and Globalists, and Neo-Cons, but I repeat myself.

DeSanctimonious has a compliant Florida Congress.

Seriously????

Wait. AP says 64% of voters won’t vote for Trump

I guess their definition of voting is the suitcases of phony ballots.

MAGA is rejecting DeSantis more every day.

if HE was MAGA, he would drop out and finish his term, keeping his word to Florida. He did not say to them “elect me so I can then run for president full time till I get nominated”, as his election plea.... but that IS WHAT he seems to be doing.

flush the toilet on this clown... the bowl is full.

No doubt President Trump would have been less generous with his endorsement if he knew the sniveling toady before him would later run against him in the hopes of his incarceration.

Players successful on minor league farm teams often fail when they’re called up to the majors…

So far, Rob hasn’t made his campaign work - with more money than ever raised for a primary. It was squandered and mismanaged.

He should be sent back down to the FL league for additional experience and hat or shirt day celebrations.

I've been hammered on fr by more than a few freepers with short memories.

They're entitled to their erroneous opinion.

Apparently DeSantis and many of his supporters including you have no idea what we and Trump were and still are up against.

DeSantis won't stand up to machine voting, extended voting, a 2020 stolen national election, hundreds of bogus lawfare counts...etc.

DeSantis' naïveté is where Trump was in 2016.

DeSantis would fail. Trump might succeed.
