If I'm understanding the "Open" category will allow anyone regardless of biological sex to compete, sounds OK so far. But unclear if there will also be separate Men's and Women's competitions.

Looks like it'll give men 2 additional medals for the same thing assuming there are separate Men's and Women's competitions. Maybe Phelps will come out of retirement, another change at the Olympic Village scene might be a factor.

That won’t satisfy the leftist extremists, who are never satisfied.

We are winning and soon enterprises like this will be totally irrelevant.

Only if Pretendagirls compete in the Open class. It would be a great chance for an upper middle male athlete to get a medal. They might as well start an all pretendagirl competition except it would be the least attended “sporting” event ever. They could have it a venue that allows alcohol sales and might sell some Bud Light.

If they were really inclusive, they’d have 57 gender categories - just saying

An “open” category. Isn’t that just special. So the question is...are you a man, woman, or open? What is a man? What is a woman? What is a...open?

Yo no comprendo.

I’m sure this category will get huge ratings on tv, har har.

But sadly, you can count on a woke corporation to fund these freaks and put them on cereal boxes and in your face in tv commercials so they can corrupt children.

Amputees to be granted a 40M head start for every 50M of a race.....
Just to be inclusive and fair

"This pioneering pilot project highlights the organization’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, welcoming swimmers of all sex and gender identities,"

Good idea that will not work as planned. The mentally ill gender confused will not be happy as being a winner in the "Gender Confused" rankings will be meaningless and no one will pay attention to them.

Combining this with the Special Olympics could be entertaining.

Can’t see this working. What self-respecting true woman would sign up for these events? And the only normal men I could see, would be those wanting to teach the others’ a lesson. Are there really that many trans athletes? And if you’re competing trans-women against trans-men, the trans-men are going to get destroyed.

It’s all so weird……….

Is this going to be televised?

This will be a joke. How many failed men, turned woman, are actually competing in swimming? They are probably thinking to themselves that they have to compete against other men again and decide to bag it.

The BBC story is slightly more informative, but only slightly:

BBC: detailed eligibility rules for new open category "coming soon"

IOW, the governing body seems to be taking a victory lap about being inclusive and welcoming while still playing hide-the-ball on the key issues. The story does seem to suggest that the new open category will be in addition to the existing men's and women's categories and that it will have its own unique qualification rules. The qualification rules are the key. The upcoming competition is an elite level event. You and I can't decide on a whim to enter the open category and dogpaddle our way to a participation trophy.

So how does a swimmer qualify? In all such competitions I've ever heard of, athletes qualify via scores in sanctioned competitions at increasingly higher levels. Often they have to first earn a spot on a national team via the national championship events. In this case, the open event will allow swimmers to compete individually. But what is the qualification standard? As far as I know, there is not a separate open category anywhere in the world in which the gender confused crowd competes in its own self-selected group.

Also give them their own locker room so they can’t stare at the woman. That would put a nail in their coffin.

This will send the men who specifically go in for this insanity off the deep end (pun intended), as the only reason they do this is to beat the women!

I have yet to see much of the other side - that is, women pretending they’re men, inserting themselves into men’s sports and competitions. Gee, I wonder why that is.

And will the locker rooms and showers be open to both sexes as well?!?

Regardless, the World Aquatics officials demonstrate they have their Hotels jammed up their collective Alphas when they continue to use the woketardian term, “transgender.”

Growing up in the local county swim league we used to call them the Wednesday Night ‘B’ Meets.

If you didn’t get to swim on Saturday, you had another opportunity for a ribbon on Wednesday night.
