CNN’s Dana Bash: Hunter Biden Special Counsel ‘Could Keep Republicans at Bay’
Breitbart ^ | 08/11/2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 08/11/2023 12:49:19 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

CNN anchor Dana Bash said Friday on “Inside Politics” that Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing David Weiss as a special counsel overseeing the investigation into Hunter Biden could keep Republicans investigating the president’s son “at bay.”

Partial transcript as follows:

PRISCILLA ALVAREZ: But again, this is a White House that is facing increasing pressure when it comes to the president’s son, Hunter Biden. Republicans have slammed the president over all of these legal proceedings and also so much has flirted with a potential impeachment inquiry. Now when that has come up, the White House stance has been that it is baseless, that they’re, that the focus should be in Congress on the American people. But all of this to say that that criticism is ramping up. This will likely fuel Republicans and what they have to say about Hunter Biden and these ongoing legal proceedings.

BASH: Okay, Priscilla, thank you so much. She says it could fuel the Republicans, but the other way to look at it is that it could keep Republicans at bay, because now that you do have a special counsel, which a lot of Republicans were were calling for A and B, I can’t remember if it was a Paula or one of our other reporters make. Maybe you guys are making this point. That while the special counsel is doing his work he can’t, he’s unlikely to talk to to Congress, and it’s unlikely for them to get the information that they’re working toward.

They should just declare Hunter innocent of any and all future charges now—save a lot of time and money...since they aren’t going to lay a glove on him anyway—and he would get pardoned by “The Big Guy” if by some miracle he were indicted and convicted of a traffic offense or so....

Hummm....could that have been the purpose of the appointment?

Rat Party co-conspirator to Republican Committee chairman:

"Gee,Mr Congressman....I can't answer that question because it's a matter under active DOJ investigation".

McCarthy breathe’s a sigh of relief. The evidence was making it harder and harder for him to capitulate.

Imagine the press hysteria if Nixon had done this during Watergate.

It’s going to be no other investigations, no witnesses, no talk of alleged misdoings because of the “ongoing investigation”. It was Barr’s favorite dodge. Plus, even pubbies will take up the “wait until the special prosecutor is done (2025), then we’ll revisit impeachment”. God, I hate this movie.

The legal procedures are all an exercise in protecting Joe by throwing Hunter under the bus. Whatever happens, the American public will not be served but will be kept in the dark.

the investigation into Hunter Biden could keep Republicans investigating the president’s son “at bay.”

Well hey, Dana Bash, who bought you this clue? This is exactly the reason why we suddenly have a "special" counsel appointed. The Republican House investigators had just announced they are considering subpoenas for the Biden family and shazammm...we have a "special" counsel to handle those matters. Dana, dearie, you said the quiet part out loud.

Special Counsel CANNOT be part of Government. MUST be independent.

So much breaking news happening all week! It’s so distracting! I wonder how that whole “drowned chef” investigation is going.

I think she might be correct. Everyone can now say they can’t provide information due to the “special counsel”.

In a way she is right, by the DOJ doing this it protects the Bidens..now they dont have to testify, now everything that turns up they can say “Hey we are under investigation” wink wink..there is NO investigation, its all cover to protect the Bidens and ya know what, its a smart strategy and its going to work..why didn’t the GOP see this coming. They knew the DOJ/FBI are hand in hand with the Dem party how come he didnt see this one coming
