People that want to use incandescents should be able to.

People that like LEDs should be able to use those.

The damned govt should stay out of it.

I like the LED better but government has no place in controlling light bulbs they deem “bad”. I switched because they were about $1 each and last WAY longer using a lot less energy.

Only fascists get involved in crap like this.

....Hear that funny sound? That’s the turning of the screws... The thumb of the elite relentlessly presses and twists on we mere commoners. Loathsome, arrogant scum.

I was going to get upset by this. But the greenies are also shutting down power plants while demanding that more and more things go electric.

So I guess no lightbulbs, only candles, soon enough.

I’ve purchased incandescent bulbs from an overseas source, even Mexico, for the past couple of years. I will continue to do so. Screw the federal government.

Don’t blame Biden.

Blame Republican’s in Congress, people like Kemp, Ducey and all those that happily and enthusiastically played their roles in allowing that moron to become President.

The DOE predicts consumers will save about $3 billion per year on utility bills

But how much more do we pay for LED bulbs?

I question and resist anything forced upon me, especially when it’s accompanied by lies, scare tactics and propaganda. If these so-called savings were actually the case, then why are people not already lined up and buying LED bulbs? Why the force? Why take away people’s freedom to choose? Why pick winners and losers? Oops, that last question is getting closer to the answer. Follow the money.

Seems to me that every lazy ass Department of Energy employee needs to be standing in the unemployment line. They are abject failures. They have not made energy more abundant. They have not made America energy dominate. They have not made energy less expensive. They have not provided energy at a rate that gives every American manufacturer a commanding price advantage over their global competitors. These worthless pieces of chit just stand in the way of American greatness. They are America’s real enemy and should be treated as such.

“And while retailers won’t be allowed to sell the bulbs, there are no prohibitions stopping from people using bulbs they currently own.”

Oh, the government is so good to us.

We only brought this onto ourselves. We elected all these morons then they let the unelected administrators running the alphabet entities make up all the rules without the consent of the Congress.

I actually like LED light bulbs. Having only 5.5 watts consumption for the equivalent of a 40-watt incandescent bulb or just under 9 watts for the equivalent of a 60-watt incandescent bulb makes a huge difference in electric usage. In fact, the most common LED bulbs use less power than the old little incandescent bulbs used for night lights.

Easy Bake Ovens hardest hit...

The rules are also projected to cut carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons

Wonder if this figure accounts for carbon emitted in manufacturing the LED bulbs.

There is no LED available to match the Lumens that a 200 or 250 incandescent bulb puts out.

Old people will have a hard time reading now.
