I’m 75. Have had to produce a weapon 2 times in my life. Neither time did I fire it. But if I had not had one, the outcome would not have been the same.
I don’t shoot toys. But pray I never have to use them.

The noise might hsve been mitigated if she’d pressed the muzzle firmly against the perp when firing.

Wait until you wake up one morning with a buzzing in your ears that never goes away. That’s when you realize you should have taken ear protection more seriously in your youth. Whether it be attending loud concerts (rock on Led Zepplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and all the other bands of my youth), working in a loud factory, or shooting without ear protection, eventually it catches up with you.
How does staring at a LOFAR gram hurt your ears?
You betcha. I have a Taurus Judge loaded with #6 shot and that thing is loud. So a bad guy will get his eardrums pierced and get hit with about 300 tiny pellets all over.
It is a good story, sad but good outcome but it took place quite some time ago.

It may be in response to recent effort to raise the age limit for a person to own or use a weapon to 21.
It is stupid idea. I started hunting with the men at around 12.
Two times in my life (I’m 75), I had to produce a weapon in defense. The first time I was in college. Probably about 19 at the time, I was not 21.
Did not have to use it, but the threat was real until I produced a shotgun. It ended quickly. Like flushing a covey of quail.

I’m a grandpa, sat through many hours of kids videos:)

You are spot on. If not for the OU/UT rivalry, you really would have a hard time distinguishing Okies & Texans. And all 77 counties voted against Obama both times. Outside a dense pocket in OKC, and Notman, Oklahomans are quite conservative.
