Dutch King Willem-Alexander apologized on Saturday for his country’s historic role in the slave trade, as he commemorated the 160th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the Netherlands and its former colonies.
“Today I stand before you. Today, as your King and as a member of the government, I make this apology myself. And I feel the weight of the words in my heart and my soul,” Willem-Alexander said.

Concur. I’m not apologizing for anything. My ancestors landed in the USA after the civil war with pennies in their pockets. At one point I believe my grandparents employed a negro domestic (as they were known in the day) but I’m sure the wages and benefits were good.
Racist overlords at Harvard and Stanford actively discriminated against my ancestors but I’m not looking for apologies or reparations. SCOTUS has fixed that problem, for now.

The apologies are coming from media voices, not the average person. That’s what I think. We’ll find out if granting reparations ever comes up for a vote.
The Dutch East India Company are the ones that brought slavery to North America in the colonial times. Personally I always thought it was kind of crappy how everybody blamed America for slavery, when it was the Dutch. I don’t know if they should apologize but it’s nice to have somebody at least acknowledging history.
Years ago I bought a Dutch oven that cracked after its second use.
I think the Dutch king owes me an apology for that.

This kind of nonsense needs to stop. This guy wasn’t responsible for slave-trading & it shouldn’t be up to him to apologize.
If we really want to get over the past, there has to be a day of Universal Forgiveness & Absolution. All sides have to agree to forgive & forget. And then the race hucksters have to be asked to get a new job & stop ginning up racial hatred.
Never apologize. It is a sign of weakness.

We see it everyday here on the border. They call it human trafficking or human smuggling. We call it slave trafficking, Because slaves is whet they smuggled illegals are or soon will be.
