Ukrainian military expert says advance against Russian forces is too sluggish, urges decisive action
The New Voice of Ukraine via Yahoo ^ | June 17th, 2023 | Unattributed

The current military operations conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are deemed necessary “due to the coercion by the Russian Federation and its Armed Forces,” said Yakubets.

“Where we advance by one or one-and-a-half kilometers, those are indeed successes. However, when we progress by 100-300 meters, it essentially amounts to a standstill.”

Yakubets said that covering a distance of 100 to 300 meters entails “crossing or overcoming half of the neutral zone,” which, according to him, extends from 300 to 500 meters in certain directions.

“Strategically, I am deeply concerned about this issue because if we persist in advancing at the current pace, we will inadvertently be playing into the hands of the Russian Federation, which will have detrimental consequences for us,” the expert said.

He pointed out that sluggish progress results in increased casualties, and the cost of gaining every next hundred meters or kilometer becomes steeper.

“Therefore, it is imperative for our military and political leadership to carefully consider these issues, assess the advantages and disadvantages, and muster the courage to take decisive actions,” Yakubets said.

The military expert also said that the Russians, by compelling the Ukrainians to advance slowly, have successfully “moved forward with their plans. And now they are also advancing in certain directions.”

“In such a tandem, it will take us decades to liberate our territories,” he said

If they want ANY chance of winning they must commit wholesale.

Form up a full armored division and 5 supporting mechanized brigades. Form a wedge and push through.

They must do this right away. Time is wasting.

They have no chance at all of winning.

The Russians would nuke them before letting that happen.

actually, abetter way would be for Ukraine to revive the guerilla-style Partisan Campaign of WWII

fast hit-and-run sabotage operations all over the place, taking out critical Russian infrastructure and personnel, can do great damage and are almost impossible to stop (as the Nazis found out)

they’re also great morale-killers ... this war wasn’t too popular among Russians to begin with, and partisan warfare would really de-motivate the Russian troops (and public)

plus, it’s cheaper and doesn’t cost as many Ukrainian lives, while stretching the conflict to years, which slowly strangles Russia’s economy as it remains shut out of Europe’s oil markets ...

“win-win”!!

Apparently Russia isn’t “just a gas station with nukes.” I don’t think that this will end well for either the Ukraine or NATO. NATO is proving worthless to America and fatal to the Eurotrash.

It’s becoming apparent isn’t it? The pro-West propaganda does not add up. Time to pull out of this fiasco.

"actually, abetter way would be for Ukraine to revive the guerilla-style Partisan Campaign of WWII"

That worked out so well for the Chechens who now find themselves fighting for Russia. The Russians don't play footsies with insurgents the way that America does because they actually want to win the wars that they get into.

We keep hearing they did not commit the reserve forces so maybe they plan a large attack once they’ve had enough of this probing forward.

My concern is they may not be using the mechanized forces properly meaning moving them quickly enough around positions. But maybe the initial defenses don’t allow that.

Chechens didn’t have a near-unlimited supply of the most-modern weapons and surveillance equipment

Ukraine does

this could work

That’s kind of what I’ve said from the beginning, Ukraine doesn’t have the manpower or armaments to win a conventional war but they could inflict real harm on the Russians by using a viet cong style guerilla war strategy and bleed them thru a thousand cuts

It actually was working in Vietnam.

Then the Viet Cong got cocky and came out in the open during the Tet Offensive.

It looked bad for us because of the sheer chaos, Walter Conkrite said so!

But eventually we were able to put them down. CBS never reported much on that, though.

After that, the Viet Cong was basically replaced by the Red Army of North Vietnam.

Where are America's hypersonic missiles? Where is America's industrial base? Where is our ship building industry? The perverted fools who rule America allowed China to hollow out America's industrial base annd create an "service economy for serfs" and now the dire consequences are coming. Only a fool doesn't know that Russia has a greater industrial capacity that America. All we have is debt, angry transvestites and keyboard warriors.

This is true, and you are quite observant in recognizing it, Redneck.

If anything, you have slightly understated the control Russia has over Chechens.

They (and their families) live, die and kill without question, at the whim of Russian authority , and Russia is the only entity that has accomplished this, ever with Chechens.
