TOWNS COUNTY, Ga. — A homeowner was commended for her quick actions after holding a burglary suspect up at gunpoint while waiting for authorities to arrive.

Towns County Sheriff officials said on May 20, deputies received a call from a home on Gumlog Road regarding someone rummaging through vehicles.

When deputies arrived, they identified the two suspects as 18-year-old Hunter Chase Adams and 21-year-old Travis Richard Foskey, both of Young Harris, as the two who had broken into several cars in the area however both had fled the scene before being arrested by police.

A short time later, deputies received a call from a homeowner in the same area who said she was holding a suspect at gunpoint.

The victim told deputies when she got home, she was met at the front door by the suspect, who was wearing her husband’s clothing. Deputies determined that the suspect had broken into her home.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the suspect, identified as Adams, attempted to run but was tackled by deputies and placed under arrest.

This arrest was in the county where we live - Hall County. Made the news here same day. This was far north Hall — serious rural, woodsy, don’t-F-with-me/FAFO region.

There’s a meth problem up there. Everyone knows that. Thus ‘everyone’ is armed in their home and vehicle, and many carry.

Everywhere north and west of Gainesville, Ga is deep red and the Sheriff and his deputies reflect that.

These guys, likely addicts, played stupid games.

P.S. not all of the Hall County deputies fit the stereotype of the Boss Hogg physique. Many of the men and women are in great shape and notably high-speed, low-drag. If you run and they have to catch you ... it’s a shame you hit that curb, three times, when you fell ;-) Also, Hall County has a great K-9 program.

That's Andrew Clyde's Congressional District, which he won overwhelmingly. This was his campaign's yard sign:

That should help to understand the views of his constituency, and why these two morons FAFO at the hands of this lady. From the names, they sound like locals. They should have known better. Probably didn't listen to their mommas growing up.

I wonder if she realizes that if one of the burglars tried to take her gun away and she shot him she may have spent the rest of her life in prison.

Now, will the police just let the perps go?

Civilization is fragile and indicting Trump puts on a steep slippery slope to lawlessness.

That is her business. I would guess she didn’t give the thought two shakes.

Nope. Not in Georgia. And certainly not in Hall or Towns Counties.

Even in Atlanta, Athens, Savannah where the local DA might go after you, you’d win quickly on appeal at the state level *IF* a jury convicted you. I cannot imagine a unanimous verdict from a jury even in the blue cities. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

NET: stand your ground/ Castle Doctrine rules in GA.

Nope. Not in ANY north GA county. B&E, especially for addicts like these two likely were/are, is hard time.

Our source for local news is accesswdun.com.

It’s good to get actual local reports. Ya just have to skip anything they post sourced to the AP.

I concur on your assessment. This isn’t suburban DC or SF.

Not in that part of Georgia.

If her neighbors happen to help her apply the shoot-shovel-shut up model, it would have ended there as well.

Not that it would be the legal path forward, but it would constitute “justice.”

Not in GA, at least outside of Atlanta.

Good thing she didn’t want to put bullet holes in her husband’s clothing.

It is the legislators and the judges who determine custody after an arrest.

Not in her own house unless she shoots him 20 times in the back while he is taking a shower.

You guys are right. She would be okay in Georgia because the guys were white. If she was white and they were black and tried to grab her gun and she shot them she would very likely go to prison.
