Tomato, Tomahto; Dee-Santis, Deh-Santis [Ron let his wife tell him how to say last name]
Tampa Bay Times ^

We asked DeSantis campaign Communications Director Stephen Lawson to straighten out the Dee/Deh conundrum. It had become the source of debate in our newsroom.

"It's also been a little controversial for us on the campaign trail," Lawson confessed. "He uses Dee-Santis."

But Casey Dee-Santis, seems to use Deh-Santis, right?

Pause.

"Yes," Lawson allowed. And added, "He prefers Dee-Santis."

Whoa. So this is a giant source of great friction between Mr. Dee-Santis and Mrs. Deh-Santis, then?

"I wouldn't go that far," Lawson deadpanned.

The mystery lingers.

And there’s the pronunciation of ‘Italia’, where the ‘I’ has the English sound of ‘e’ as in ‘equal’.

As for me, I’m no relative of the Sheriff of Mayberry. My last name is Griffin as in the talk show host Merv Griffin. And my first name has no ‘y’.

Rhonda Santis....

No wonder he insists on saying DEESantis.

Kids may have called him Rhonda when he was young.

Or he is trying to head that off at the pass to prevent it from happening now.

[Ron let his wife tell him how to say last name]

I was wondering why Ron wouldn't answer the simple question about how to pronounce HIS surname.

Now we know why?

>You are going back and looking for articles about the pronunciation of someone’s name from years ago and posting them as a major issue, and say someone else should be humiliated?

Ron’s wife is a Cankles wannabe. This article proves how she orders him around, just like Hillary. We’ve had more than enough co-presidents.

OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN – GETTING TO KNOW YOU LYRICS

[Spoken] It’s a very ancient saying,
But a true and honest thought,
That if you become a teacher,
By your pupils you’ll be taught.

[Singing] As a teacher I’ve been learning —
You’ll forgive me if I boast —
And I’ve now become an expert,
On the subject I like most.

[Spoken] Getting to know you.

[Singing] Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you’ll like me.

Getting to know you,
Putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.

[Anna and the mothers]

Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you’ll like me.

Getting to know you,
Putting it my way,
But nicely,
You are precisely,

[Anna]

My cup of tea.

“I was wondering why Ron wouldn’t answer the simple question about how to pronounce HIS surname.

Yes we do. Ron is embarrassed to admit that his wife made him change the pronunciation. Total Hillary “co-president” move.

Casey DeeSantis is the one forcing him to run even though everyone can see that he’s doomed to lose. But he’s too henpecked to say no.

At least Biden has dementia and has no choice to be lead around by the nose by his wife. What’s Ron’s excuse?

This country has had enough of girl-boss First Ladies usurping political power to implement their own agendas. Jill/ Casey DeSantis seems to be cut from the same cloth as Hillary and Michelle, albeit with better comportment.

Reminds me of the hullabaluh over whether it’s KAHmala or Camel-a. Except DeSantis doesn’t care what you call him as long as it’s “Winner.”

We asked DeSantis campaign Communications Director Stephen Lawson to straighten out the Dee/Deh conundrum.

DeSantis is an Italian name, which is pronounced “Day-sahn-tees." Most English speakers use a schwa for the first syllable (because English speakers' tongues are lazy and turn most vowels into schwas), pronouncing it "Duh-san-tis."

I think the Trump Cult is really grasping for straw here. Anything … and hoping something will stick!

Nothing needs to stick...DeSantis 35-45 points behind the polls.

Their candidate keeps losing support so it’s all they can do.

Showing their true RINO colors though that’s for sure.

There's a reason they call it the Never Back Down PAC. Perhaps the message in the name of the PAC is to him.
