DeSantis’s ‘Never Back Down’ PAC Advisor Backs Down, Leaves PAC.
The National Pulse ^ | 05/27/2023 | Staff Writer

Posted on 05/28/2023 7:45:24 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

A long-time Ron DeSantis advisor is “stepping down” from his role with the Florida governor’s presidential campaign political action committee: the ‘Never Back Down PAC’. The news comes one month after The National Pulse revealed that Cox was also a partner at the parent firm of pro-DeSantis pollster, Gp3, also known as ‘POS Strategies’.

Cox served as the political director for DeSantis’s reelection campaign just last year, and was described as leading “the strategy and messaging for the super PAC.”

A board member for Mitch McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund, Cox’s reason for departure is still unknown, with POLITICO reporter Alex Isenstadt reporting: “Phil Cox is stepping down from his volunteer role at the pro-DeSantis Never Back Down super PAC, per person familiar. People close to Cox say he remains a supporter of DeSantis.”

Bizarrely, Cox was spotted golfing a few hours before Donald Trump himself teed off at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, on Thursday.

I did not know that.

I asked a question. It would be nice to get a reply without all the snark.

His record relays no such thing as gun control and confiscation..
How about a link instead of snark???

So, if you want your rights negotiated away

...then vote for DeSantis. He has no problem ditching freedom of speech when signing bills in another country.

Another leftist tactic from a Trump cultist.

The FACT is the freedom of speech is not curtailed by the legislation.

Can you cite exactly what limit on freedom of speech that legislation enacted?

You refuse FACTS in the same way the climate change crowd refuses FACTS.

You are a cultist. Congratulations. You no longer think for yourself.

Sorry Charlie, Selective posts don’t work and context is not excuses.
President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.

“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida … to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence.

“Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said.

Trump was responding to comments from Vice President Pence that families and local law enforcement should have more tools to report potentially dangerous individuals with weapons. Trump met with lawmakers on Wednesday to discuss gun laws and school safety in the aftermath of a Feb. 14 shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead.

The suspected shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was able to legally purchase the AR-15 reportedly used in the shooting despite numerous calls to law enforcement about his unstable behavior.

That’s called Red Flag gun confiscation, that wasn’t even on the radar until Trump hijacked the party.

Next thing you know your social credit score is low and they’re bashing in your door.

Got it.

The cult now supports confiscating firearms and due process later.

Plain as day. The Trumps will have them all drinking Bud Light and shopping at Target for clothes before he’s done.

I knew the ad was a lie. I was curious who the traitors are running it.

How can you derive satisfaction from distorting the facts in order to create the illusion of a “win”?
Isn’t the point of this site to communicate, to learn, to hear new facts or interpretation?
For you to prowl these threads to distort, to attack individuals rather than debate is a waste of everyone’s time and a disservice to the candidate you profess to support since your behavior reflects on him, creating an impression of a pattern of bullying, distorting facts & of intimidation.

It is possible to exaggerate for effect any action by law enforcement. The devil is in the details. It is up to citizens to voice their opinion on where to draw the lines.

If someone is reported by family or associates and has made credible threats of violence on social media or when interviewed then some further intervention is warranted.

That is not the same as a low social credit score. You spit on the graves of the many children and adults who have been killed in situations where the police were aware of mentally ill individuals who had multiple postings detailing violent plans and with credible reports of danger from family but did not have the power to intervene before lives were taken.

So now words have no meaning to you.
Rove gave detailed advise on national TV to DeSantis. That fact triggers you so instead of just accepting the truth, maybe even replying that Rove advises many politicians, which I don’t disagree with and which I did not imply was untrue you attack and call me a cultist.
Very sad.

Florida currently has a Red Flag gun confiscation law.

Can you cite exactly what limit on freedom of speech that legislation enacted?

Except as provided in sub-subparagraph b., a person 40 who distributes pamphlets, flyers, or other materials, whether 41 for commercial or noncommercial purposes, in a public place, 42 including outside a private residence, and such materials 43 discarded by recipients, leads to littering, commits a 44 misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 45 775.082 or s. 775.083. 46 b. If a violation of sub-subparagraph a. involves material 47 that evidences religious or ethnic animus, including content 48 described in s. 806.13(2)(b), the offense is reclassified as a 49 felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 50 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

So, if you are distributing flyers (freedom of speech), and other people discard it, you are guilty of a misdemeanor and not the actual person who littered.

If there is 'animus' as determined by someone else, you've committed a felony. Also, animus has such a loose meaning, this bill could easily be used to quash opinions other people find offensive.

Florida’s red flag law was enacted before DeSantis took office (while Trump was President, who supported it). In fact DeSantis has said he would not have signed the law into effect had he been governor.

Since taking office, DeSantis has removed most other gun restrictions, including instituting a state wide concealed carry rule WITHOUT requiring a permit.

Trump and DeSantis aren’t even in the same league when it comes to gun rights.

Rove is what’s known as a “pundit”. Yes, he said what he would advise the Desantis campaign to do. I’ll bet if you do a little looking, you can find times he gave advice to Trump and to other candidates in 2016, 2020, etc. it’s what the shows pay him for, to come on and pontificate. To try to spin that into Rove being a Desantis adviser or Rove somehow endorsing Desantis is truly desperate.
