Audie Murphy was much more decorated. Audie was awarded the CMH plus every medal that this field grade then an LTC was awarded and more. We had a number of LTC’s and senior officers get SS’s and DSC’s in RVN. Look at Robert Howard if you want a real hero like Audie.
