Russian troops 'ran as fast as they could' as they fled their positions on the frontline in Ukraine, the head of the Wagner mercenary group has claimed in his latest rant targeting the Kremlin's military chiefs.
Yevgeny Prigozhin - until now a close ally of Vladimir Putin - savaged the tactics of Russia's war commanders and compared Moscow's forces with a fish that was rotting from the head.
And he even threatened to ignore Moscow's warning that he and his men would face treason charges if they abandoned their frontline positions - blaming Russia's defence ministry for failing to supply them with ammunition.
In his latest seething rant - just a week after publishing a grisly video with his slain men piled behind him in the background - Prigozhin vowed to leave unless he received a replenishment of supplies.

I am totally confused, earlier today on FR we had a thread about Ukranian troops jumping out of windows to get away, now it’s Russian Troops running for their lives....so who is actually winning.
The Ukrainians, or at least they're not losing.

Maybe after this spring offensive I keep hearing about we will get a clearer picture of what’s happening.
Yes, not losing is actually winning when you’re holding the line, and even pushing back, against an enormous Muscovite invading army.
When you spend an entire year trying to take one town, and you can’t do it... I’d say you’re a loser. So the Russians are losing, which means the Ukrainian’s are winning.
The real winners will be the Russian people... When Putin is finally put down, they can hopefully return to the pursuit of a democratic republic... Rather than a autocratic pro-communist regime.
You said in February that the counteroffensive was coming shortly. Then in March you said the Spring. Now it's Summer and the Zelenskies are being chased to Kiev by a band of criminals and lunatics playing army. What the hell happened to all the $$$$ we gave you Ukies?
You mean how Saddam Hussein was put down and now Iraq is being run by Iran.
You mean how Qaddafi was put down and now Libya has open air slave markets.
You mean how Osama Bin Laden was put down and now Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban are stronger than ever.
All I’m saying the replacement for Putin is likely to be a real radical and much more dangerous. Be careful what you wish for.
It’s one thing to be opposed to the US getting involved in this fight. It’s quite another to be a pro-Russian, pro-Putin lickspittle. It’s nauseating.

Passing fad. Most likely if things keep going the way they have been between Shoigu, FSB and Prigozhin, there will be a return to 1917 ... particularly if the Ukraine offensive is successful. After that, given the terrible state of the Russian economy, the various Oblasts and Provinces will have to separate just to remain economically viable.
