A woman has been found after she went missing for five days in the Victorian, Australia bushland with nothing but “a couple of snacks” and her “common sense”.
Lillian, 48, set off on what was meant to be a short day trip on Sunday, traveling through the dense bushland at Bright in Victoria’s High Country.
Incredible footage has revealed the moment she was found by emergency services on Friday during a search of the hilly terrain, after her car was spotted at the end of a dirt road in the Mitta Mitta bushland.
Lillian had been driving towards Dartmouth Dam on April 30 when she hit a dead-end at the close of Yankee Point Track.

(Unless she considered wine and lollipops to be survival gear and thus thought she was prepared).
proof positive that wine and lollipops are good for you
Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker.
I could live with that combination.
Big deal, W.C. Fields lived on that diet for 30 years.
on my honeymoon, my wife survived just fine for a week on a healthy diet of wine and a lollipop!
Old woman-hardly sees. She’s walking and hears “We’re standing in line for free lollipops”. That was the answer given when cops busted a cat house. She gets in line.
Cop: “lady aren’t you a bit old for this?”
Answer: “Sonny, as long as they keep making them I’ll keep sucking them.”
At least she had enough sense to remain with her vehicle. She apparently was not in the best of health so if she had tried to venture off on her own, they may have not found her until it was too late.
Maybe she assumed she had cellphone coverage... and could just ‘call home’ if there was a problem.
a well done raunchy post
I posted the below comment on the other thread (before it was nuked) in response to the accusation of nickcarraway and I being “bots””
“Nickcarraway has been a Freeper for years, as have I. Neither of us are bots. I suspect he, like I, was reading articles at NY Post, came across this story and thought that Freepers may find it interesting. I actually searched before posting using “Title:Woman Missing” and no results were returned for this story. He and I were probably formatting a post at the same time and that’s why his thread didn’t show up in my search.”
Since he included pictures with his thread and I believe it had more responses, mine should have been the one removed if two threads on the same article offended so many people.
“Maybe she assumed she had cellphone coverage... and could just ‘call home’ if there was a problem.”
That’s true. The “dead zone” she was in may have only been in a hundred square feet or so area. If she had been physically able to walk back up the road a half-mile, it is possible she could have obtained cell-phone reception. However, since she had no way of knowing, it’s best she remained in her vehicle.
See? Always have wine and lollipops with you at all times! It’s basically common Prepper sense! :)
(I think she may be my long-lost sibling...)
who needs the lollipops?
And an emergency satellite phone / locator.
It’s a great feature in the new iPhone 14.
Works for me. 😏
