In response to a rise in hate crimes Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of CA vs Hate.

CA vs Hate is a new multilingual statewide hotline and website that provides a safe, anonymous reporting option for victims and witnesses of hate acts.

CA vs Hate is in direct response to the rise in reported hate crimes in California, which in recent years, reached their highest levels since 2001 – jumping almost 33% from 2020 to 2021, according to the Governor’s Office.

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) started the conversation to create a state hotline to report hate crimes in 2021. CA vs Hate was launched at the start of Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May.

Newsom said, “Here in California, we are sending an unequivocal message that hate will not be tolerated. We stand firm for a ‘California for All,’ and it is important that we hold perpetrators accountable for their actions and provide resources for those individuals victimized by hate crimes. Californians have another tool to ensure that not only justice is served, but that individuals have access to additional resources to help deal with the lingering wounds that remain after such a horrendous crime occurs.”

I bet this does not end well...."My burrito is not cooked well..." "She looked at me and frowned..." "He was thinking how he wanted to jump my bones..."

Wait...you’re white? You can’t call this line! You can’t be the victim of hate, only the promoter of hate. Please hang up.

The state is crumbling everywhere you look, staggering deficits, overrun by illegals, rampant crime, highest taxes in the country, people fleeing the state, filthy third-world Mexifornia all over the place...and THIS is what they focus on. “Look! Squirrel” comes to mind.

Yep, exactly. Its RACIST discriminatory BS. Commiefornia is going to go down in history as being even more racist than the Civil War south. I hope White people call the hotline constantly, that’s the way to do away with crap like this.

What a way to retaliate against someone you want to hurt.

Call in and report them and let the government make life hell for them.

What is a hate act?
A hate incident is a hostile expression or action that may be motivated by bias against another person’s actual or perceived identity.

Perpetrators may be motivated by different discriminatory biases, including, but not limited to; bias based on race, color, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender, including gender identity.

Some examples of hate incidents can include: derogatory name calling, bullying, hate mail, and refusing service.

Under California law, a hate crime is a criminal act committed, in whole or in part, because of one or more of the following actual or perceived characteristics of the victim: disability, gender, gender identity, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation; or because of the person’s association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.

How do I report?
Any victim of or witness to a hate incident or crime in California can report it and receive support any time using the link above. You can also call 833-8-NO-HATE; (833) 866-4283 Monday - Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. If outside of those hours, you can leave a voicemail, or you can call 211 to report hate and seek support.

You can currently submit reports online in 15 languages and, when calling the hotline, you can get access to support in over 200 languages.

If you want to report a hate crime to law enforcement immediately or you are in present danger, please call 911.

What happens after I report?
Callers will be connected with a professional trained in culturally competent communication and trauma-informed practices.

Whether you report online or by phone, you will be contacted by a care coordinator who will follow up with you to ensure you are able to access resources and support, including legal, financial, mental health, and mediation services.

Why should I report a hate act?
Reporting will stop the normalization of hate in our communities, and ensure impacted individuals get the help they need.

Is law enforcement involved?
California vs Hate is not run by the police. Your report will not be shared with law enforcement without your consent. We will only connect you with law enforcement if you request it. Our team can share information about how to report to police or local prosecutors

The State statement of purpose for the hotline excludes White people. So much for the principal of Equal Protection of Law and the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution.
