The last ice age ended about 25 thousand years ago. To accept man-made global warming, one has to believe that the forces that brought about the ice age, and made it disappear, no longer exist on the planet.

This map shows the ocean surface temperature if you want to check to see if their claims are correct.

Yes! That’s the key to zombie science. If you pay a “scientist” well enough they will come up with any result you want.

Where is their data coming from? What safeguards do they have in place?

Could someone have manipulated the data, prior to processing?

What processing are they performing upon the data before they draw conclusions? What assumptions are they basing that processing upon? How sensitive are their results to those assumptions?

When you sample water, don’t get the warm yellowish stuff near your bathing suit.

I think Gilligan is taking the water temperature and messing up the professor.

“daily ocean surface temperatures breached historical record highs

since at least 1982”

Lets put some perspective, a typical glacial period lasts around 70-90k years.

A typical interglacial period lasts about 20k years

Currently we are about 11.5k years into an interglacial period... and about 8.5k years from the next one.

So forgive me for stating that highest surface temps in 40 years is chicken littling.

Tell these people to quit pissing in the water while taking a sample, and into my cowboy boots and telling me it’s raining.

This is a great time of the year to go swimming in Maine... You’d likely be dead from hypothermia within 10 or less minutes.

...Climate Change Institute,... we are in uncharted territory... and scientists are clearly shaken.... it is terrifying... Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution... Earth System Science Data... a worrying sign... we're still not entirely sure... a huge change is happening... ScienceAlert... Axios... 2023 is off to an alarming start... Brown University...

So, the oceans have reached the same temperature as when Reagan was President. This means we must panic, zero out carbon and CO2, destroy our civilization, and start depopulating RIGHT NOW! ... or maybe throw much, much more "government money" into climate research?

I didn't expect much else out of the other institutes and publications but I used to think some real scientists worked at Woods Hole. I guess I'm still thinking in 1982 mode.

Since the post AND the article don’t bother to say HOW MUCH warmer the new “record” is..... (why not?)

I went to the study the article linked to. So here is how much warmer this new record is.

” Over the most recent period (2006–2020), the EEI amounts to 0.76±0.2 W m−2. “

THERE! Now you know!

Its not likely something earth related at all, thats how we wind up with generations believing in living Gaia.

The earth isnt a solid cue ball, more like an egg with a layer of silly putty on the backside of the shell. Surface volcanism and eustacy/isostacy are just surface symptoms, side effects, of the cosmic hand massaging the earths core.

That cosmic hand manipulating the egg of earth is changes experienced in gravity/magnetism.

That would hand would have to be the sun, another object or combined objects effecting a tug in our orbit, or similar large powerful force that we dont yet understand.

Whatever it is, Im sure that the only way to change it for the better is more government control and banning all independent means of small scale energy production.
