More people like Trump than DeSantis, and this is all about votes, end of the day. Campaign contributions are a traditional route to get votes, but DeSantis might be raking in a lot of money from single-issue donors because of stands that go against majority sentiment, making him less electable.

What is more important than the amount, at this time, is where DeSantis’s money is coming from. It is not coming from the grassroots. It is coming from donors who want to make a big splash, to fake a momentum in order to stop Trump/MAGA and the little ingrate DeSantis has been chosen for his willingness to dance to their tune.
DeSantis is shallow, grating with his whiny voice, and is all fluff, camera angles, and sunglasses.
