In major victories for Republicans that have nationwide implications, North Carolina's state Supreme Court on Friday threw out previous rulings that had declared illegal both redistricting maps for excessive partisanship and a Voter ID law for being infected with racial bias.

The ruling garnered ire from Democrats, other politicians and organizations while Republicans celebrated the ruling.

I don’t consider these fights over until the election is certified...and even then.

Damn good day to be a Tar Heel.

My daughter is certainly happy about it. She lives outside Fayetteville, although she been a yankee most of her life.

Good news. But eternal vigilance is necessary when dealing with leftists.

The “ire” will be on the other foot, so to speak, if (more likely “when”) Democrats win their similar lawsuit in New York which would restore the temporarily-invalidated gerrymander that was the worst in the whole country except perhaps Illinois, and would cost the GOP 3 or 4 seats.

Even if the Democrats DON’T win their suit, that outcome in New York may very well happen in 2024 anyway due to the fluke nature of all those close wins in ‘22.

Indeed. I thank God every day I’m a Tar Heel, born and bred. It’s a great victory for folks who actually want to be represented in government rather than to be dictated to.

Felons: Don’t you expect us to vote?

Me: No, I expect you to die.

The state was essentially ruled by judicial fiat rather than democratically elected legislators and the governor. The 4-3 Democrat court just did whatever the hell it wanted overriding the will of the people always using a flimsy excuse that it was somehow “racist” to do anything other than what they wanted.

That’s why we tossed two of them and flipped the court in the last election.

I see that as a flaw of the U.S. Supreme Court. It took us 50 years to get rid of Roe vs Wade.

North Carolina under Rat control epitomized gerrymandering with NC 12:

After that convoluted district approval, any semi-normal district should be readily accepted.

Sounds like a temporary win until Soros can swing the court back to the communists.
