Singapore on Wednesday executed a man convicted of drug trafficking, a representative for his family said, despite pleas from his relatives and activists for clemency.
Tangaraju Suppiah, 46, had been convicted for abetting the trafficking in 2013 of more than 1 kg (2.2 pounds) of cannabis, double the threshold for the death penalty in the city-state, which is known for its tough laws on narcotics.
Kokila Annamalai, a Singapore-based rights activist representing the family, confirmed Suppiah had been executed by hanging after the president had rejected pleas for clemency on the eve of the execution.

On Wednesday? Friday mornings are when they have simultaneous hangings at Changi prison. I guess they couldn’t wait till Friday to hang him.

Although it’s on the Malaysian peninsula, Singapore is a city-state that is separate from the country of Malaysia.

Heroin,coke,fentanyl,speed...yes,absolutely death penalty. But for grass I think that might be too harsh.
That's because they didn't dry it right. You can get harsh pot when you try to dry it too quickly.
Singapore became independent from Malaysia in 1965.
Just say no to drugs.
I’ve been there
Very clean very prosperous
Not free
But they like it seems
It was an oasis in a sea of brutal conflict with casualties beyond anything we’ve seen proportionally outside our WBTS
It’s what China would like to emulate
Prosperous economy and tight control top down from a cabal intent on that
