Maher: Dems Have ‘to Answer’ for Education Failures and More Money Won’t Fix the Problem
Breitbart ^ | 04/21/2023 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 04/22/2023 7:30:41 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that Democrats have to answer for failures in the education system and that spending more money won’t solve the education issue.

Maher said, “I also read this week in the paper, one in three children in America cannot read at a basic level of comprehension. 85% of black students lack proficiency in reading skills. We already spend a lot of money on schools, so you’re going to keep telling me more money will fix this? … And it seems like a lot of times the solutions that come from the left seem symbolic. They don’t seem like we’re actually addressing what really needs to be done, [which] is get kids learning, get them reading, get them able to have a job.”

Bill Maher stated that Democrats have to answer for failures in the education system ...

How do you plan to make that happen, Mr. Maher? No government employees or political decision-makers ever "have to answer" for anything.

Schools are a money laundering mechanism.

You cannot speak of "failure" unless you are clear about what you are trying to accomplish.

The Democrats succeeded.

They’ve got an answer. Covid made our kids uneducated sexual deviants. Sex is all they think about 24/7/365. Just what the turd rolling pedophiles in D.C. wanted since their boy Epstein “killed himself.” The public schools picked up where Epstein left off when he “killed himself.”

Sorry, Mr. Maher, you just don't understand.

What needs to be done is adopting the latest liberal educational fads from universities, keeping "woke" at #1 on the priority list, and, most of all, keeping teachers' unions in power. Those things matter above all else.

The importance of educating children is down at #183 on the list.

Separation of school and state is the answer.

It all starts and ends at home, Bill. Nothing government can do except slash the welfare state and get much tougher on crime.

Dems don’t have to answer for s—-! Never have, never will. Repubs are losers. Dems win because they want to win. Simple.

If the parent does not care and their kids prefer the streets to going to school, how does paying teachers more to teach to an empty classroom advance their reading proficiency? Money doesn’t fix a failed culture. The people in the culture do

“Is this guy beginning to pull his head out ?”

Maybe, but he can’t pull it out completely because he will lose his audience and gig.

Yeah, I hope he was misquoted:

“He concluded that he’d accept a deal of paying teachers more and get more for your buck.”

That is exactly backwards and just what government employees expect, rewarding their previous failures. No! The deal must be, educate kids and we will give you more money for success. If you can’t educate kids, get out of the way.

The weakness of collectivism is that it installs permanent sclerosis and mediocrity.

It is an overfed zoo animal.

If there is no father around, the male children will generally not follow the trade of the father.

The housing voucher system needs to get reformed.

Married families with children get top priority.

Families with both parents on a birth certificate get second priority.

Single mothers with children conceived under marriage get third priority.

Single mothers with children not conceived under marriage get fourth priority.

A second adult income will get presumed, and presumed to be at least minimum wage times 30 per week, with up to 24 months of lifetime waivers per parent present in the home.

The solution to education is simple.

Take all the tax revenues for education and issue it to the parents as vouchers to be used where the parent chooses be it private or public schools. The problem will cure itself and the teachers unions will be gutted. The problem with education is political.

Maher, it didn’t happen over night.

The decline in education has been going on for decades.

As more were pushed into junior/community colleges and regular colleges, the standards had to be lowered to accommodate them. Most of them should never had been in college. Rather, they should have gone to trade schools.

Try raising the standards now and you will get riots in the streets.
