Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) will travel to four countries overseas as part of an international trade mission as he prepares to make a decision on whether to enter the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

DeSantis will travel to Israel, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The Florida governor will meet with business and government leaders such as Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, and British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, a press release detailed.

“This trade mission will give us the opportunity to strengthen economic relationships and continue to demonstrate Florida’s position as an economic leader,” DeSantis said in a statement.

Jeb didn’t do nearly as well as DeSantis is doing for Florida.

DeSantis’s most recent out-of-state trip came on Tuesday, where he traveled to Capitol Hill to “meet behind closed doors with a select group of congressional Republicans” to gauge support for a potential 2024 presidential candidacy.

Interestingly, Rep. Lance Gooden formally endorsed Trump immediately after walking out of a “positive” meeting with DeSantis on Tuesday.

Gooden joined other congressional Republicans in endorsing Trump, including multiple members of Florida’s congressional delegation.

Politico’s Gary Fineout reported that the governor’s travel costs are “traditionally picked” up by Enterprise Florida, a public-private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders.

(public-private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders) aka fascism

Many pundits expect DeSantis to announce his 2024 plans after Florida’s legislative session ends next month.

Will the legislature be getting rid of the law that says DeSantis has to quit as governor before running for president???

DeSantis’s overseas trip is the latest destination on a packed itinerary, as he has traveled across the country to battleground states like Iowa, Ohio, and New Hampshire in recent months as he prepares his 2024 decision.

Ron’s getting a lot of bad advice regarding his political future. He’s allowing himself to become just another “useful idiot” for the establishment. While I think he’s done an excellent job for Florida, he seems to be allowing the professional emotional manipulators of the establishment to guide him away from what he was doing to what they want him to do. If the Bush dynasty supports him it begs the question: “Who is Ron Desantis actually?”.

I had doubts about that New Yorker piece last year that emphasized the aloof, selfish and disengaged side of DeSantis but it looks more and more obvious retail politics is not his forte. At the very least he doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in relate well to others in a one on one setting.

“he’s doing exactly what competent governors do regularly to bring businesses to their state”

Exactly, this has nothing to do with running for President, it is all about his role as governor.

"PleAsE claP:" 2024 Presidential Election Poll

(D) Biden: 48% (+3)

(R) Trump: 45%

(R) DeSantis: 48% (+3)

(D) Biden: 45%

Taken by Trump's own pollster, too.

That's gotta hurt

And yet, plenty of people on Free Republic are very critical of him. Many seem to be viewing everything he does based on the idea that he may run for president.

You are correct
By viewing life through a paper towel tube, those you mention can’t see reality. Their view is very narrow and tightly restricted

Rather than expend energy destroying the real enemy, they chose to kill De Santis with friendly fire
