Biden nuclear fuel and waste official, nonbinary Sam Brinton, gets no jail time for felonious luggage theft at Vegas airport

I am outraged by the favoritism enjoyed by (now former) top Biden administration nuclear fuel and waste official Sam Brinton, who wantonly (and we know repeatedly) stole luggage from strangers at airport baggage claim areas. The UK Daily Mail reports:

The non-binary former Energy Department official who was caught on video stealing luggage was ordered to pay $3,670 to the victim and given a suspended sentence of 180 days in prison after pleading 'no contest' to theft.

Samuel Brinton, 35, who uses they/them pronouns was issued their sentence Wednesday in Las VegasNevada, eight months after they grabbed a passenger's bags inside Harry Reid International Airport.

Brinton was facing misdemeanor theft charges, which amount to less than $1,200 in stolen items. They had originally faced a felony theft charge since police said the amount stolen was $3,670.

LVPD

Nevada law holds that theft with a value of $1,200 or more is a felony. And the restitution ordered clearly indicates that this threshold was exceeded. So, why the leniency?

Yes, it was a plea bargain, but why did prosecutors settle for a suspended sentence, which enables Brinton to escape any incarceration unless he violates the terms of his probation?  There’s CCTV footage of the theft, so obtaining a conviction seems almost certain. And the video also shows premeditation:

When officials began investigating and looked at security footage, they noticed Brinton - then identified as 'the suspect' acting strange.

Officers 'observed several nonverbal cues, or body language anomalies, from the suspect, which caught his attention,' according to the warrant.

'Specifically, Brinton pulled the victim's luggage from the carousel and examined the tag. Then placed it back on the carousel, looking in all directions for anyone who might be watching

Brinton thought it over before committing the theft. He was making sure (he thought) that he wouldn’t be caught. This is a person who was in charge of security for some of the most dangerous substances in the world, an obvious target for terrorists (talk about grave responsibility!), and he didn’t know about security cameras?

the two-level “law” will as-planned encourage more
of these mentally ill individuals and government officials
to steal on their whim, to take what is not theirs,
and to ignore the rights of all others.

Protected class indeed. We’re living in a real life version of Animal Farm. All animals are equal. But, some animals are more equal.

Actually it would be more accurate to use the Venn diagram. We’re at the convergence of 1984, Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451. Maybe a bit of Lord of the Flies thrown in for “diversity”.

His third offence. He’s facing charges in another state, and there’s photos of him.parading around in clothes he stole from.an African fashion designer a few years earlier.

So how many times, if he’s been caught three times? Ten to one ratio seems reasonable.

This is not mental illness and should not be compared to real mental illness. He embraces a Marxist derived ideology with a side of criminality. If he would receive “treatment” in a mental hospital, the leftist psychotherapist quacks would affirm is ideology and encourage him to embrace it. The would be followed by drugs/hormones and potentially surgeries that would permanently rendering him incapable of functioning in society. Real mental illness is not affirmed and encouraged. It is not fed drugs to further ingrains the problem and their are not surgeries the make the problem permanent.

A federal pound him in the butt prison is the best deterrent to future crime. Beyond that he needs a good dose of deprogramming with religious instruction.

Three strikes, but you’re Trans and a government employee, so you get 3000 strikes.

Will we hear about Sam in the future, in reference to some over the top violent crime with multiple innocent victims who never met him before? Hope not.
A certain pattern of modus operandi has already been established by several “Non-Binary” people.

He has friends in high places. Apparently quite a few. Steal my luggage and you get stuff that Goodwill would reject, but stealing designer dresses from the designer herself (and then wearing them in public) is not going to come in under any $1200 limit unless the thief is above the law.
