Even on SIPRNet, he wouldn't (or shouldn't) have access to these docs unless he had the need to know.
So the military allowed a friggin’ 21 year old to have access to this level of documents? Something does not smell right here. I would think there is no way he has been in the military long enough to be entrusted with such information.
Could a Veteran chime in on whether or not this is usual?
Heck, I had to spend longer than four years in the position from which I retired to even have editing privileges over student’s grades.

Our government has lost ALL credibility in near all matters.
It’s the consequence of senior leaders in all the agencies and departments being political.
Instead of objective and neutral policy makers, letting the facts lead where they may, all decisions go through a political filter in how they impact oneself, the opponent, ones constituents and financiers.
When the senior executive schedules within government spend their time on their knees making sucking sounds to political appointees, that’s what you get.
You cannot trust the US government on ANYTHING because even something like an unemployment or inflation statistic has political ramifications. Crime statistics, illegal border crossings, even trade numbers, or the drop in standardized testing scores for those looking to go to college... everything has a political component and gets skewed accordingly.
However, here’s a question folks should be asking. Why was this even “secret?”
This is information which should be public domain and was only kept “secret” because it does not agree with the one sided political narrative of Ukraine winning...
The entire classification system in this country is BS. Much of that is simply kept secret so that decision makers do not need to answer hard questions or deal with the scrutiny by: media, public, political opponents, legal.

SIPRNet - is just a, supposedly secure, means of internet comms. It doesn’t have a geographical location, and you can’t just log-in and start intel gathering - even if you’re a cleared end user.

He may be, but the point is that he could have had a TS clearance and proper access to the information. It’s a very common thing for service members that young to have TS clearances. There’s nothing wrong with that at all.

This smells of a military version of the FBI’s great Gretchen Witmer kidnapping caper. Just as with that nonsense, I think they decided to goad some impressionable folks, in this case kids on Discord, into doing something that would give the government the excuse to blame “white nationalist, racist, MAGA, blah, blah, blah…” Any time Biden and/or the ruling cabal in general is about to find themselves squarely behind the 8-ball, something like this magically appears to distract from it. What luck, huh?

You can have a guy that’s an E-4 that has more access to sensitive information than say an O-4 if he’s in the right job.

You really can’t make that determination unless you are framilar with his particular job tasks. He very well could have had a “need to know” for that information but you don’t know that one way or the other. And “low ranking” is not a criteria for access.

If his job requires a TS clearance, then he does the paperwork, undergoes the investigation, then the OMP “adjudicates” and approves his TS request.
That’s how it’s done.

But I never had acces to compartmentalized data.
Age has nothing to do with it. If a person is granted a TS then they are deemed “trustworthy” to handle TS info.
How to get a TS, Job requires it, Fill out extensive paperwork, extensive investigation, OMP adjudicates investigation and grants TS or not. It can take up to a year.
