Governor seeks court authorization to detain citizens in quarantine camp Appeals verdict striking down scheme

The governor of New York has gone back to court seeking permission to detain citizens of her state in quarantine camps – without notice, without rights and for as long as some state-chosen health officials say is needed.

The fight arose during COVID-19, when state officials decided they would adopt a new rule giving the state exactly that power.

A lawsuit ensued, and the result was that the detention plan was ruled unconstitutional.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, through Attorney General Letitia James, now has appealed the court's rejection of her "Isolation and Quarantine Procedures" scheme, according to a report from lawyer Bobbie Anne Flower Cox at the Brownstone Institute.

The lawyer explained the rule "allowed the Department of Health to pick and choose which New Yorkers they could lock up or lock down, with no proof that you were ever even exposed to, let alone actually sick with, a communicable disease. They could have locked you down in your home, or they could have removed you from your home and forced you to quarantine in a facility of their choosing."

There were no time limits, no appeal, no age limits, no rights at all, the report explained.

Why does anyone still live in NY? My ancestors are no doubt spinning in their graves. Even the ones from the 1630s. I think they may want to be moved out of there at this point.

New York, New York, a heck of a town.
The taxes up and the liberties down.

We’re still here because we’ve come to the realization that while we are no longer a republic, there is no red state that is safe.

And that includes Florida and Texas.

If you don’t believe me, take a deep dive into their budgets.

“I will not go to a camp.”

Oh, come on.

Just get the shot.
Just get the boosters.
Just get in the box car.
Just get in the camp.
Just get in the shower.

Communists never quit...

Every time they detect a glimmer of freedom & liberty needing to be stomped out, they attack, attack, attack...

More proof that:
The only good communist is a dead communist...
It is our duty as citizens to help everyone be as good as they can be...

“Tennessee....Especially East Tennessee.”

We have our problems here in east TN, too. I’m pretty sure our Congress critter in DC is more than friendly with big pharma.

And Blackburn and Hagerty both voted to certify a fraudulent election.

Low-income, high-density housing is being constructed now in the midst of what has been upper middle class areas. That’s a plank in the RAT platform.

We figure there’s really no place to go. As a FReeper posted a while back, every red state is just one stolen election away from being a blue state. That’s pretty scary.

Yeah; we’re big talkers. But we don’t ever DO anything. (I include myself — what CAN we do?)

She is not going to simply quarantine folks and leave them with nothing to do. There will be work assignments in the camps and the guests will be expected to perform their assigned tasks. Those that do not work will not eat. Those that attempt to escape will be, er, punished. Those that disobey the camp staff will be ‘corrected’ at roll call. And, yes, there will be leadership positions open to guests that obey the camp staff and can help teach others to obey.

I will just say it out loud. That is the brightest red line of all. If anyone comes to you and demands you be sent to a camp without notice, without rights, for as long as they say... you have every right to shoot them dead.
