Trump is Jar Jar Binks.

He is so utterly incompetent, so self-destructive, so counter-productive, he has resulted in the Deep State becoming far more audacious and powerful than it had ever been.

But do I really believe Trump is Deep State? Well, do I believe the fan theory that Jar Jar Binks was the ultimate Sith Lord? No, Jar Jar Binks was just a complete idiot, a fool, a failure for children to laugh at. Trump’s court nominees are just good enough that I don’t think he’s a Sith Lord. But as for being an idiotic fool for children to laugh at? I wouldn’t’ve said so in October of 2020... but now... this is making me hard to reject that...

Trump is Deep State

I said 'with all his flaws', and he could obviously not trust anyone for honest help in doing his job. Your statement is makes no sense given the attacks on Trump by the 'deep state'. But with friends like you, who needs enemies.

Well, Good Cop/Bad Cop is a thing; we’ve seen that with both Bushes. Hell, Nixon was even pretty damned Deep-State-ish.

Sorry, but Trump has not learned a damn thing. He kept Ronna McDaniel in place as GOP Chair. He endorsed McCarthy for Speaker. He LIED about the only conservative running for US Senate in Pennsylvania so he could push his muslim, anti-gun pro-genital mutilating Dr Oz as the candidate.

I see no reason to give Trump another chance.

If DeSantis is the GOP nominee, I intend to vote for him. If Trump is the nominee, are you going to vote for him? Thats all that matters here. Everything else is personal preference.

By that logic, you should also vote against men, white people, Republicans, wealthy people, elderly, people with huge debt held by German banks, Friends of Bill, allegedly former Northeastern liberals, Ivy-league graduates, heirs, ... a few of these categories include DeSantis; they all include Trump.

Look up Dunning Kruger, and discover not only why Trump was incompetent, but also why he was so helplessly incompetent, and why someone with some political experience is better than someone with zero. Well, almost zero. Trump sure knew how to schmooze with the Clintons and New York/New Jersey politicos.

Yeah, I know there are lot of shady politicians. Let’s not forget Donald Trump was into casinos and New York construction. When getting into reality TV makes it look like you’re trying a more honest line of work, ...

I will pose the same question as my previous post:

If DeSantis is the GOP nominee, I intend to vote for him. If Trump is the nominee, are you going to vote for him?

You’re simply not going to get better people to run for office.

Who in their right mind wants to get their hands dirty with this mess, if they have better alternatives.

Most politicians these days, frankly can’t do anything else but to be politicians.

Ron is living rent- free in the Donald’s fevered head and the paranoia is at critical mass.

This approach does not bode well for the Trump Campaign. DJT ought to fire his campaign managers. This is not 2016 or 2020.

They need a new playbook.

I am of the opinion that “No officer may qualify as a candidate” means officially being selected as a candidate for office. Not campaigning in hopes of being the candidate. Not receiving funds for that purpose. Not publishing a book or otherwise generating publicity. If DeSantis becomes one of the Republican primary candidates then his resignation would be required. It certainly is not required at this time.

De Santis can ignore Trump’s maniacal rankings, knowing he’s pushing his staunch supporters further and further away, and into the DeSantis camp.

I've heard from a very few on FR... but I have no first hand knowledge that you are correct.

Trump shows up anywhere and crowds gather. DeSanctus shows up and some show up. I don't know.

Trump and his supporters are convinced that he has the nomination in the bag already - that he will crush DeSantis - yet here they go stooping to crybaby Democrat-like tactics. Why am I not surprised?

It is not against the law for him to “campaign” for president as he is not yet qualified as a candidate. Should he be the Republican candidate either for the primary or for the election then his resignation is required.

Exactly, why is DeSantis attacking the leader of the party by getting into the primaries and not waiting until 2028 and supporting the leader of the party? Do you see Democrats going after Biden, a washed up demented man with no chance of winning?

DeSantis has announced?

Correction. To qualify means the proper paper work and fees have been made. My mistake. It is still an official process outlined in statute. It does not mean being selected as the candidate.
