There are some business sectors in blue states that still have restrictions due to Covid. Some states with GOP governors and legislatures removed almost all restrictions on businesses in 2020 after only a few weeks, and most did within a few months and their economies quickly started bouncing back. Blue state governors tended to go the other way and keep adding more restrictions and extending their emergency declarations in order to maintain their power. They ignored all evidence that showed it would harm their economies and their state budgets have suffered, as have their constituents.

Part of this is due to the fact that blue states subsidize unemployment more than the red states do.

My cousin lives in deep Blue Washington state and when she was unemployed, no proof of serious job searches was required. She was even given full health insurance benefits, no questions asked.

I would bet that, it’s the red states that are preventing the country from going into recession.

If the split were to be done economically, the red states would show significant economic growth, and the blue states would show economic recession.

Biden should be thanking the red states for saving him from showing recession during his complete two years.

I really don’t know what her salary was, but she is not of the high-paying education level.

I have no doubt about that.

The left is fond of pointing out some fake statistics that red states, particularly in the South, are net "consumers" of the government dole, taking more than they contribute, and for this reason, these states couldn't make it on their own. They completely miss the essential dynamics that a separation would elicit, though, with less being taxed by a federal government.

That is not good for presidential race. Those states with high unemployment have more people on gov’t dole. They will vote democrat.

Texas is 36th because we’ve got a hell of a lot of natural born Democrats, especially after Katrina and illegal aliens who are only here to take a swing at the Big, Red, White and Blue (No Green) Piñata.

“The left is fond of pointing out some fake statistics that red states, particularly in the South, are net “consumers” of the government dole,”

What this misses is that the Blue States exist by extracting wealth from the productive parts of the country.

Where do your insurance and mortgage payments go? How about your phone and cable bills? Red state residents pay thousands per month to Blue city dwellers.

It is amazing that the highest rate is 5.4% That was considered full employment by economists. Don’t know if that applies today.

In fairness, Nevada is probably at the bottom of the list because so much of their economy depends on tourism and hospitality, which were adversely affected dramatically by the plandemic. Not that Sin City couldn’t stand a little roughing up; but still.

There can be no doubt...*no* doubt...that in early 2020 Rat Party Headquarters decided that the way to get rid of Orange Man Bad was to order citizens of many large states that had Rat Party Governors to hide under their beds, thus bringing the nation’s economy to its knees.

One note on this list: the Governor of Massachusetts,Charlie Baker, pretended to be a Republican but never was. He also was a Trump hater...and was never afraid to declare his hatred.
